This may be "overkill" for some households if you only have urine problems from time to time: there are less expensive types available on Amazon. On the OTHER hand....this is a very solid and well made rechargeable black light. Structurally it is "heavy duty" with thick well finished metal construction. The large rechargeable battery promises long life, depending on use. Be sure to charge the battery fully with the charging unit before using. It's spring loaded and ensures the battery stays safely and firmly in the charger. FOR OUR household, this is an excellent unit upon first use. We have four dogs who are both inside and outside. Two are rescue dogs: an old male Shih-tzu and old Italian Greyhound. The former, as usual for most males, piddles on multiple areas and furniture feet daily (he is too old to "get fixed" according to the vet). The latter has a bladder problem and he "leaks" droplets daily all around the house. He was in a animal sanctuary for a year or two before we received him. SO......while we clean daily, we found out last night with first use of the light, that we missed a lot. Fortunately we use a spray that breaks down the urine, so the house doesn't smell, but we missed a lot over the past 2 months. We also live in a rural area, so it will be "fun" to see if there are any scorpions around: generally the wild birds like quail seem to keep them out of sight.

This little light works great for lighting up yooper lites. Its powerful and easy to use. It charges fast and is very durable. Perfect size for carrying in the beaches. I love this light and would buy again if i need another. I have told everyone that asks to get one.

I'm going to reiterate what one reviewer said when she stated something like, "If you don't want to see it, don't get this flashlight!" Holy hell, this thing is POWERFUL. I'm still shaking my head and things it showed! I had bought another, average UV flashlight and didn't know what to expect from trying another that was supposed to be stronger, but MAN, was I shocked. It came with the battery already powered up, so right off the bat, I turned off my house lights inside and turned on the Lumenshooter and saw things I DID NOT WANT TO SEE. But... then I started thinking logically. These flashlights show every speck of dust, every speck of any substance that is not like what it's sitting on, so you have to adjust your expectations. For example, I had some work done in my powder room months ago, and with the Lumenshooter I saw footprints of where the construction workers obviously tracked some grout onto the floor tiles. So, the grout shows up and really can't be removed. It can be CLEANED, but it's going to be there until I get some sort of acid to remove it. Same with some caulk on the painted walls (my construction folks sucked). That's not a hygiene problem; it's just science (or whatever). So, if you're trying to find cat or dog pee, you have to know what you're looking for and understand that NOT EVERYTHING YOU SEE is cat or dog pee. Or human pee, for that matter. I mean, SOME of it might be, but good luck sorting it out. The best you can do is use this light for CLEANING UP WHAT YOU CAN but understand that things aren't always what they appear. Bottom line: It's a damn-good UV flashlight!

A true and extremely bright UV flashlight. Can even use it during the day to find luminescent things but be carefull at night time! This will light up like a rave party and you'll see things you cannot unsee!

I have a collection of minerals from the Franklin mine in New Jersey, which is world renowned for glow-in-the-dark specimens. Some glow wonderfully under this light, but others that I know will glow under other lights will not under this one. I’m assuming that’s because different minerals require different wavelengths to give off photons. The light works great for detecting, old dried cat urine, and gross stains in hotel rooms. While exploring in my garden at night, I found a centipede that lit up like a firefly under this light.

Holy cow, do not get if you are a germaphobe. Was having an issue with a disrepectful guest making a mess in the bathroom. Got this to see how bad the situation was. Let me tell you it was disgusting how much urine was all over the place. It was helpful to make sure I got everything cleaned up well though. Would be useful for pets, teaching kids to clean up after themselves, rental properties, etc.

Great UV light for my crystals. I lost one when I moved. I'm sure it is still packed away somewhere but I ordered a second one. Whatever you do don't use it in your bathroom. You will never see your bathroom the same again in day light. These lights would be good during a home inspection before buying a house!

Works good for Yooperlight hunting and is half the price of the recommended lights.

I did get this for another purpose BUT I’ve been using it on my nails to cure them with the LEad gel and the time is cut in half because the strength is a lot stronger. I gave my other LED lamp to a friend and just use this when needed.

Works as well as I hoped. Finds all sorts is gross stuff in the house. Bright enough to use outside at night.

Powerful blacklight torch shows up stains and particles but is a bit hard on your eye's without the required tinted safety glasses.
