Never been so bored
For a book that discusses creativity and innovation, it's one hell of a contradiction to it's topic.I've read a lot of text books and this has got to be the worst, it's so mundane I had to literally force myself to stay conscious when reading it.

innovation management
I bought this book for a course but I am also interested in innovation dynamics and management and the book represent a well made gallery of tools and techniques. it is well written and smooth, two often under-estimated qualities in management literature (which often is neither well written nor smooth). I was positively surprised by the book enjoiability and well-done graphs and charts. the models are clearly explained with the necessary figure support. the mini-cases are useful if taken as long example rather than true cases, the longer ones are well-made but nothing comparable to Grant's cases (in his famous Corporate Strategy book) or Ivy league cases, but these are shorter and quite useful to illustrate the chapter's salient takeaways in a practical perspective. the book is moreover aware of present-day dynamics and trends. the only weakness on the content side in my humble opinion is a relative lack of emphasis (only 1 chapter) on project management, which is often regarded as paramount in conducting innovation projects.

Innovation...The Complete Guide!
If you want to really understand innovation and how to do it then this is the book for you. It's thorough. There are sample processes and approaches for all aspects relating to innovation management - from developing strategy, through to generating and selecting ideas, implementation and much much more! What really works for me is the way this book shows how innovation impacts on each different function within an organisation. In this way you get a real feel for the organisational challenge that is innovation. What you also get is lots of ideas about how to really help those different functional teams contribute effectively to innovation projects. For the student it offers all the theory to understand the process of innovation. For the practitioner there are easy to understand, comprehensive tools which can build confidence.By definition no-one can give you a precise roadmap for your particular innovation journey - you make the map as you go into the unexplored territory. However, 'Innovation Management' is a 'must read' book before you set off. It provides advice on all the necessary preparation, and "travel options" so that you can have a safe and fruitful journey.

Interesting, thought provoking book
I was very impressed by this book, it was written in a style that brought the subject to life and really developed my understanding of innovation. The pentathlon framework is something that is worth reading about if you are studying innovation (which I was as part of an MBA), or if your career would benefit from knowing more about innovation. I would actually recommend this book to any student or career-minded person - it convinced me that innovation can be harvested within an organisation and it's not just serendipity!

It is a good start ...!
I read it, it is a good and clear cut book, no doubt. Congratulations to the authors! For advance learners, e.g. MSc/MBAs who are more specialised on Strategy, Innovation, Technology & Management or senior executives from a mid to big size corp., I would recommend them to read Dodgson M. et al. and/or Tidd J. et al. as well.Read the list of comments from the scholars and business executives inside these 3 books. Good luck on your learning!!From a PhD Researcher from MIoIR, Manchester, UK.

I had the chance to be at Keith Goffin's presentation, and this book is as interesting as the presentation itself. Very well down, easy to read compare to other management books I had to use!!
