Works great and loud.
Pros: Loud. Case appears to be cast steel or cast iron. Very little plastic in this bad boy. I hooked it up to an industrial time delay relay so that it cycles on and off so that it sounds exactly like a real air raid siren. Far superior to the crappy "warble car alarm air horn" that most people use on an alarm. I screwed it with #12 wood screws right up under the eves so it's protected from the rain yet nothing muffles the sound. I kept the old horn in service just in case there's a power failure. Cons: Suffers from "Chinese power syndrome" Meaning that the power cord is garbage the first thing you need to do is replace it. Here in the USA when we have a 120v metal appliance with motors inside of it we like to ground it. That way if spinning things disintegrate inside of the case and the internal destruction causes a hot lead to contact the case, you don't have some poor guy sent to rectify the situation get electrocuted. We like our ground wires in the cord, not separate. Also as a matter of principle we like to enclose electric wire junctions. The case has junctions in it in the bottom and there really should be a cover plate there. If you want a very loud horn then buy this or it's big brother. None of these things is an obstacle to any electrician that does commercial work or someone with good DIY skills. And this is one of the few models out there that is measurably louder.

Great product
Great siren, well built, the tone is almost perfect, I replaced the electric cord because it seemed cheap. But its great. I parred it with a continuous cycle switch and run it on a 20 amp smart switch.

Works well, powerfull sound.
Well made and sounds good, way better than a speaker would. Not earthshaking but loud enough to be heard over quarry equipment at 1/2 mile away. It has 2 wire and a grounding screw, you have to wire your own plug which is easy enough.

Loud, but not that loud
I liked the Air Raid siren, it wasn't as loud as I was hoping. It was about as loud as a standard fire truck siren. It was loud, but I was hoping for louder. It does seem well built and it came in a cool looking wood crate.

It's ok.. not as loud as everyone makes out
I have heard the real air sirens... this is loud... but it's not that loud... the actual sound is not the air raid sound.. either... but it'll have to do...

I do believe that Zombies could bleed all over it and it would work just fine when you needed to actually use this thing
Hi Amazon! Well, I bought one of these. I am/was going to send it back, but I won't. So forget the "am". Just saying Ok, I don't think I will ever actually have to use this thing, but I bought it because I wanted an Air Raid Siren! There. I said it. I bought this because it is basically an air raid siren. Maybe a tornado siren if you live in the Midwest and hear them every other Wednesday at noon for testing....... I have a big giant chimney on my house, and THIS will be mounted into the bricks that make up said giant chimney! You do need to provide your own plug - whichever you decide to provide. It is 110V, so I would tend to go that way. And it doesn't seem to be grounded...... There is no "Green" wire. Just a Red and White. Again, Just saying. As far as construction is concerned on this unit, I do believe that Zombies could bleed all over it and it would work just fine when you needed to actually use this thing. I mean, come on, its an air raid siren.........And, when it's on my giant chimney, I really don't think any zombies would be up there anyway. Heck, I would have a couple of Double Aut Buck in your.... Something or other... before you got on my giant chimney. But like I said, I am actually afraid to even try to plug this thing in because I value my hearing. I value my hearing...... It says it's 145 db. I actually believe that, and I will definitely stay away from hearing anything like that if I can. It comes packaged very well, I even had Sunday Delivery by the US Postal Service! I am going to save that little wooden box they send it in. I like it very much. I also have no idea why I want to save the wooden box. But it's a cool box! 5 stars. Service? 5! Ease of ordering? 5! The thing itself? 5!

This is the Loudest siren you will ever hear.
I bought this to use as the siren for my intruder and fire alarm system. Tried it out yesterday. It is as loud as anything you will ever hear! Unlike electronic sirens that only output sound at very high frequencies, this is loud throughout a broad range of frequencies, making it MUCH louder than a comparable electronic siren. The sound is exactly like the sirens that municipalities use for tornado, air raid warnings, that kind of thing. I had a friend on the phone over a mile away step outside while I tested it. He could clearly hear the siren. It will be a brave brave or stupid intruder that sticks around when one of these goes off.
