Uni Jetstream EDGE 0.28mm Oil-based Ballpoint Pen, White Red Body (SXN100328W.15), Black

My most favorite pen I had for my 2025 school year. I had this for about a year and it is the best. The pen is so light weight and the smoothness of the ink was amazing. The ink started to fade after a year past and it is hard to look for an ink refill. Entirely, I would recommend it for people who are in school and the price is worth it.

This is is nice pen, but please be aware that evening though it's a 0.28mm, it writes more like a 0.20mm. I still sent it back because it didn't sit my journal purpose I had in mind. I plan to try a thicker nib in the same series.

This pen is so close to perfect. It fades quickly and the ink will skip. The color fades but it still looks like it has a lot of ink left. The design is amazing, fits in my hand perfectly, the experience is great and the fine point is exactly what I was looking for but for the price point I wish it was darker and the ink flow was more steady. Maybe not worth the value for money. Outside of the pen is very durable and the clip design is perfect. So close

Works way better than I thought it would and I absolutely love how it writes! The design could be better but it’s okay. The pen is crisp and doesn’t bleed through the paper or on the paper when writing.

IMHO, this is 3.5 out of 5, so I've rounded off to 3. The best part of this pen is the metal front section. It's a nice matte metallic finish with groups of etched lines and a nice bit of heft. It's a stark contrast to the rest of the pen, though. You'd think this takes a nice sized refill. Sorry, but it's more like a D1. Yes, you have all of that body space yet only a D1 style refill inside. Ridiculous! The only plus to this included Jetstream refill is that it's a very nice precision tip, has reasonably good ink, and the reservoir is clear to the fill level is easy to see (unlike with metal D1's). But it's also fragile and requires a light hand. Pressing too hard can cause some blobbing and skipping (paper fiber being scooped up). The barrel is made of a glossy lightweight plastic, the kind that you find on disposable free ballpoint pens you get at businesses, doctor's offices, events, etc. The clip is an artful design and it glides onto fabric fairly easily... but it shapes it into a curve, as opposed to just a flat compress, which means you may get visual impressions left behind on clothes. Lastly, the rear clicker is this boring thin matte black piece of plastic. At least the click action is good. And on my example there isn't any bothersome tip wobble. The refill is press-fit into a tubular dock inside the pen that holds on very well. When you pull on it to extract, you can feel nice resistance. Upshot? Half-baked. Starting with the front, Uni had a nice pen going on... then after it hit the body, the rest just sank. I got it for the looks, and the looks is about all I got. Maybe later, Uni will revisit the EDGE and include a more premium main barrel, as well as rig it to accept larger refills.

My favorite pen for ultra thin lines. 28mm may be too thin for most but they do have 38mm cartridges as well.

I have a great appreciation for fine tip pens, the smallest diameter being 0,38 mm Uni which I absolutely depend on for daily writing. After I saw this pen in a youtube short about some of the best new Japanese Stationary products I was persuaded to purchase this pen by its unique features, particularly the thin tip which allows users to see more of the area they're writing and the ergonomics of the pen, it's nicely balanced and the wire clip is very cool. What absolutely sold me however, was the advertised "world's diameter ballpoint pen" at 0,28mm. When this pen arrived it wrote great, smooth as any Uni pen I've used and produced a fine thin line. This lasted for several minutes before the pen started to fail. I attempted to correct the failure by scribbling circles, checking the ink cartridge, and cleaning the tip. The pen continued to fail. I returned the pen and was sent a replacement however the results were identical. I'm highly disappointed. To be perfectly honest its been years since I used a pen that didn't work minutes after unpacking, and has never happened to me with a Uni product.

Yes, you can write this small, and even smaller, not for fast writing, but for smooth writing.

I love thin pens, and this is amazing. Dries fast, doesn't bleed, easy to write with, perfect weight. Its so sad that refills are so expensive but try it out, its worth the price.

seems broken, think it's just to small a tip to write on paper, gets stuck a bit. gives very little ink which is also kind of nice but not why I bought this pen. It's really not clear to me if my pen is broken or not.

Its not a regular ball pen and you will surely be disappointed if you buy it expecting the performance of a regular pen. About me - I invest in stationery and buy unique products. I like the experience of getting new (& less known) pens and trying them out. About Uniball - Uniball is the world leader is pens and you may have used pens by this company. If not, please buy them and try - they are a delight to write with. About this pen - its a niche product with very fine tip (0.28 mm). Therefore the USP of this pen is its fine writing. And that's what you should buy it for. The weight is well distributed, the bottom being heavier that the top. And its very comfortable to hold. Pros Writers very smooth, like butter. The fine tip is a delight for those looking for a unique writing experience. Uniball quality shines through - as I said, they are world leaders in pens Cons The pen writes best at a particular angle; so you have to adjust accordingly. Like many ball pens, it takes a day or two to catch up and become smooth. Before that, you require patience. After that, its a joy to write! Since its a niche product, refill availability will be a problem. I plan to buy some from Amazon and stock up. Price is high - but its a niche product, not your regular 10-rupaye-wala-ball-pen-available-at-nukkad-shop. So if you know what you are getting into, buy it, give it a few days and enjoy the ride! Imagine the pen being an orchid - requires care and watering and will wither away in harsh conditions; but when it blooms, its a joy to watch! Hope the review will help make you an informed purchase decision. This pen is not for everyone!

This is not for everyone but if you appreciate hair thin lines then you will freaking love this pen. I received it and have barely let it out of my sight since. I love love love the super fine line of the .28. I tend to write with my pen in a more upright position — more like a sumi brush than a ballpoint — so for me this pen works very well. If you tend to hold your pens at a more acute angle to the page you may find it a bit skippy. 100% would buy again — new fav pen for sure.
