Nice Pen
An amazing pen! What I’ve found with a lot of pens of this diameter is that the ink tends to coagulate a lot quicker and does involve sporadic skipping because of the smaller surface area. Something to get used to as it doesn’t happen very often. With that being said this pen is great, the construction is nice, and once the ink is flowing appropriately it writes extremely well. There is minimal movement that comes when the tip touches the paper and the clip is very easy to use unlike other pens and pencils.I am left handed, and certain pens release too much ink. This one gives just the right amount so it doesn’t look faded, but also not too much to where my hand smears it. Very much a specialty pen that should be used for fine writing and some nice note taking. I wouldn’t recommend to use for quick on the go writing. Something like a 0.5 mm diameter pencil would be the lowest threshold for jotting down something rapidly. Hope this review helps!

Solid Pen!
The pen was delivered a few days ago and since then I got a lot of writing done with it. At first the thinness of the ink cartridge seemed a little strange. This is my first pen with such a thin line of writing. That strangeness wore off as I continued to write with it. It quickly grew on me and I love this pen. I don’t have many Uni pens but I am becoming a big fan. The pen is well constructed, feels solid, strong, a good weight, and well designed. The clip on this pen is another selling point. Great product and I’m a happy customer!

Great pen if you're careful with the paper
I bought this for the same reason as many others - comfortable metal body, fine line, refillable therefore reusable, attractive design, and the pen does all that.I use it for sketching and there's only so far you can "push" this pen; meaning that if you want faint construction lines this pen is perfect, however if you want to darken and reveal a sketch then you may want another, separate liner as this pen can only darken "so much" even with multiple passes. With different pens I've used this isn't so much the case but it is an opposite trade-off: for instance with a typical gel pen, your construction lines or guide lines will be much darker than with the Jetstream but when you do finally get to the final inking of a sketch, you can darken chosen lines much better. With this in mind, I do think the Jetstream has the edge as for me, faint thin line are what I wanted to sketch in, and it's probably why you're viewing it and checking reviews. The only caveat, and it's a big one for me which brings me to a point of frustration high enough that I might just stop using the Jetstream, is its inability to perform in my chosen sketchbook. The pen struggles with paper that is suitable for watercolor, to the point that you could make a single continuous stroke across the entirety of a page and get maybe a centimeter of ink to flow. It really is "that" bad. It's usable if you're concentrating really really hard and don't mind going back over the "trench" that the pen gouges into your paper, but it's not fun and makes a drawing look amateurish. This pen "looks" like, and actually performs like, a pen you'd use before a watercolor sketch, but I guess not. However, I switched to a different sketchbook, that is to say a typical sketching book with 80 gsm paper that has just a little bit of "bite," and it's fine. Somewhat inconvenient that I now have a pen and book that won't interact, but it's ok. In this arena the pen is pretty much perfect for what I want. I actually went ahead and bought the red and blue refills, I want other pen bodies so that I don't need to swap cartridges when I'm ready to accent in blue but that's my next point. The pen is expensive. Like, really expensive for what you get. This is Rotring territory, but certainly doesn't act like one. And the fact that there's no included refills is a huge minus in my opinion. All in all, if you can justify the price, get the right paper, and want an attractive "forever pen," this is it. Useful for sketching and I would presume for journaling or note taking it's even better. Overall for me is a 4* value though, because of the price and lack of refills.

amazing pen!!
If you’re looking for a high-quality, ultra-fine point gel pen, this is the perfect choice for you. It works well on various surfaces and has a unique pocket clip that sets it apart from other pens. I highly recommend it!

Skipping Ink
Pros: it’s VERY lightweight, the tip is very thin as advertised and sturdy (so it won’t bend if you write hard)Cons: With my very first use it started skipping (when you’re writing and the ink sporadically stopping and starting as you write, causing breaks in the lines.) but I chalked it up to it being a new pen. I did the typical pen shaking, wetting the tip of the pen with a tap on my tongue (incase it was really dry or something,) scribbled circles and patterns and tried writing out random things, but NOTHING stopped the skipping and nothing at least improved it. I checked the ink and it’s full with no visual oddities found. The ink that does come out is very light and looks like the ink dispersal you would see if a pen is dying out. It’s not worth the price you pay for pens that are typically this price and straight from Japan.Overall I’m really bummed and disappointed as the uniball jet streams I’ve ordered have never disappointed me but this one is a waste and does not even serve the simple purpose of writing three letters. The one star is simply for the pen design.

Not exactly what i need...
Bought this after trying someone else's pen. I planned on using this outdoors to make quick thumbnail sketchs and watercolor them. It works great under perfect conditions, but not at an angle other than on a desk...otherwise it skips alot. Does not bleed when w/c painting on top of, but skips if you want to add detail to finished work...this was the other reason I bought, to sign my work. Gonna try the thicker refill before discarding, but a great pen for envelopes, postcards and legal docs as the ink does not bleed. I can see it would work great at annotating notes on docs and books because the line is consisting very fine and regular (when it doesn't skip).
