Excellent Hooks!
I found these to be excellent performers for flossing sockeye salmon. J-hooks have a tendency to foul hook fish due to the nature of flossing. It happens. But circle hooks need an edge to set, ie a mount corner, and for the most part don't turn and set in bodies, fins, tails, etc. The protected point prevents that. I used to use Nautilus style and I still have a bunch of the, but have found that these SE inline Octopus hooks dig deeper into jaws and mouth tissue than the Nautilus, resulting in more landed fish. IMO, this is because these hooks use a thinner wire than Nautilus and just penetrate deeper.

Excellent hooks for saltwater bottom fishing
I've become a big fan of circle hooks for reef and other bottom fishing in our area, and I particularly like this Gamakatsu brand. I stopped using Mustad hooks. Too many defective ones with eyes that weren't properly closed. That's not a problem with these Gamakatsu hooks. They are very sharp right out of the package, manufactured well and shaped the way I like circle hooks to be. The hook point is inline with the shaft of the hook, making them legal for use in areas where circle hooks are mandated. I use these in several sizes. Great hooks.

Strong
All I can say is that they’re excellent. Top notch. Equally as good as the Owner and comparable name brands. Thick shaft, and won’t bend with a big fish. I’ve caught 30# fish on the 2/0 no problems.

Package open on the bottom
They look good and legit at a good price. A bit concerning that the bottom of the package was open 🤔

Just what you’d expect from Gamakatsu
Very sharp and strong hooks. They work great down here in Florida.

Good J hook replacement
If you are used to J hooks but want to (or have to) switch to circle books, this is the hook for you. We have put them through the ringer this week and on a size 1/0 have caught everything from baby snapper to 24 inch yellow Jack. The hookup rate is similar to J hooks and if you accidentally do the hookset, all is not lost. I will be buying these regularly from now on.
