Good quality but some issues
Very heavy, the fit at the top was not great with still 1cm proud despite our efforts. We took the advice of another reviewer to add two screws to the head for safety. Had to slightly reshape the head. Not a seamless fit.

Doing renovation to garden and was struggling with tree roots getting the way slowly things down! Got this pickaxe and pow!! Chopped through the roots no problem. Also good for trenching. The project is now going along much more quickly and easily. Right tools make the job more enjoyable.

Essential tool for horticulture!
I believe the proper name for this great tool is a 'grubbing mattock'. It is designed especially to help in 'grubbing' out the roots of shrub and trees from the soil. For safety make sure anyone you are working with stands well back as you swing the mattock from above your head down to sever the root. Much more effective than using a spade. It can also be used as an adze for breaking into really compacted soil. It is my favourite tool and almost certainly preceded by a flint equivalent by our neolithic ancestors...
