Cosmic Karma: Understanding Your Contract with the Universe

Mixed feelings
OK. I know that those who dared to criticize any part of this book have been criticized by the fans of this author. Nevertheless, I`m taking the risk and I`m going to say that I wasn`t completely satisfied with this book. I bought it because of the excellent reviews that I read here and I was curious to get some more karma or background info on my and my relatives` birth chart. My first impression was that the author concentrated too much on areas that are more general and easy to find anywhere else, like "The Sun Sign: Your Karmic Degree". I am sorry but I haven`t learned anything new about my sign here at all, it`s basically a typical description of your Zodiac sign that you can find anywhere online (only retold with different words and style), exactly the same keywords, almost identical information. It would be OK if the book was about the Zodiac signs only but I would expect some more karma details or more author`s thoughts or karma philosophy over here. A retold description is simply not enough for me. This part of the book makes about 54 pages which is makes almost one third of the book with no authentic info. You can find it online for free.I noticed the same tendency in some other parts of the book. Let`s take, for example, Neptune in the 10th house. I compared it with another online source. Again, it`s almost the same, only retold, I can`t help it. The keywords like parental authorities, professional career, public reputation, professional reputation, public scandal, experience with father, superiors, public image simply keep repeating. So - do not take it personally, but I know how some books are being made - basically, if you are good at working with the language and know how to retell things, you also can write a similar book.Same for the Pluto in the 8th House: online keywords: rebirth, transformation and change, death, sex, taxes...let`s compare it with the book`s section and we find "regenerate, life-changing resources, new beginnings, death, sex, IRS..."Also, I think there is not much balance in terms of the chapters, only 17 pages for Naptune, 13 for Pluto, 16 for the 12th House...compared to those 54 pages that could be easily left out because I don`t think there is anything new to learn. However, there are good aspects of this book, too. I think the author has included here some thoughts on her own that really come from her own experience. There were couple of comments or analysis that I think were pretty accurate and/or authentic and they completed the otherwise general text. So yes, there are some interesting ideas in here but 1) I am not sure if I would completely trust their meanings and 2) I don`t think it`s enough to rate this book as "excellent". Of course I do understand that each of us has different criteria of what "excellent" means and yes, my rating is subjective, too, but I tried to rely on facts and could not help it: this book is OK, but not excellent for me. Sorry, guys. Would not buy again and/or recommend to others.

Understand Your Past To Make Better Choices In Your Future
This is my second book from Marguerite Manning. I started with her booklet on Juno (which I also highly recommend) and as soon as I finished her book on Juno I knew that this was an author who had tapped into the true heart of this material.I found this book to be incredibly insightful. I have done EXTENSIVE past life research on my own life (past life regressions and intensive historical research to confirm the regressions information) and I found this book to be 100% pinpoint accurate to all the research I had done. When I read Cosmic Karma's detail for my own natal chart they were an exact match to the information I had uncovered, which was helpful to me because I have always been my own toughest critic through this past life discovery process. You will need to know your natal chart so dig out your birth certificate and use the links in the book to create a free one (if you don't already know it), but from there it is easy reading. The format is enhanced cookbook style, but astrologers don't turn your nose up at that... this isn't a primary "my first astrology book" reader for newbies (although since it is cookbook AND the language isn't technical, it is very easy for newbies to read) this is a cookbook for an astrology main dish that very few of us have consumed before. (I guess my only disclaimer would be that for professional-level karmic astrologers or karmic astrology students with years of intensive study already under their belt this book may be redundant... but I have been an avid passionate astrology student for years and this book was a breath of fresh air to me!)This book will be helpful to anyone with an interest into past lives and the karma we endure/benefit from today. For too many astrology is used as justification for behavior--i.e., it is not my fault that my words are tactless and sharp, I have Mercury in Aries!--this book (and all of Marguerite's books/teachings) shows us WHY we came into this world with Mercury in Aries and this insight behind the veil can open up new opportunities for how you want to be tomorrow.I speak from experience, as a person who has uncovered their past, that realizing where you have come from will help you endure your negative karma with more grace and less victimization and will empower you to make better choices in your future.May inner knowledge set you all free. <3 <3 <3

Very informative information to help you understand why you are here
I first heard about this book on a astrological web site. I was so interested I ordered it from my library. It took 3 weeks to get it and once I started to read this book, I wanted to buy my own copy so that I could keep it. I have many astrology books as I have been studying astrology since 1967. I have all the classic astrology books starting with books written by Margaret E. Hone up to Noel Tyl and Reinhold Ebertin with the Combination of Stellar Influences. No typical Sun Sign books are in my library. This is the first book that I have found that helps you to understand why you born at this time and how to fulfill your reason for being on this earth. The first time I read through to the end and I am now rereading it only this time with a list of all my close family and friends and the positions of their Natal Sun, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto and the houses they are in. I want to compare what she says and what I know about the people I know well. She writes in a very easy to understand style and I highly recommend this book to anyone who is questioning " Why am I here at this time on this earth and what you need to do change to make your life more fulfilling and fulfill your destiny.

mmm not enough....
I bought this book based on good recommendations but honestly, I'm dissapointed, because ussualy description about some planet position, are very short and don't offer enough info, is using I think difficult explanation. After reading it for me or friends, neither me or them can't say we understood smth . I wouldn't recommend it :)
