Bought after reading reviews. We have.the aluminum and composite. Reviews suggested they are close in performance. The truth is this is a good aluminum bat but if you can find 90$ more the composite is Much Much better.

I have used this cable about 3-4 times now along with the EQ Mod software and my HEQ5 Pro mount. It works great. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars because it's too early to determine the durability of the cable. I'm hoping it lasts quite a while.I installed the driver it suggested, ascom, eq mod, stellarium, and stellarium scope. Everything communicates well because of this cable.

This nicely reduced the cable clutter by not needing to hook up the hand controller. (since I have to use a laptop to autoguide anyway)This is much better than the serial cable to usb conversion that you have to use with the Atlas Pro. With that, you have to hook 2 cables together, which increases the odds of cable damage ruining a very valuable clear night. (also why does a $2,000 mount still have a serial cable in 2020?)

Connected the Orion SkyView Pro GoTo mount to the ASIAIR Pro. Plugged the RJ45 connection in place of the hand controller and the USB end to the ASIAIR Pro and selected the EQMod Mount driver.

Works on asiair, as advertised. I used it on an Orion Skyview Pro GOTO system. Select EQMD mount. Another cable on Amazon, advertised as EQMOD, did not work.

works great with my eq6. use it with eqmod and green swamp server on a windows 10 intel nuc.

Got this to connect my ASIair pro to my orion sirius mount (skywatcher eq5) and it worked perfectly. Perfect control and eliminated the hand controller

Works perfectly with my atlas eq-g. Had to download drivers, but that was no big deal.

I bought this item with hope of connecting my Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro mount directly to my laptop (achieved by connecting it to the aux port on the hand controller via a USB to RJ12 cable). However, the item I have received appears to be defective. The driver software on Linux and Windows detects it but nothing appears to go up and down the cable resulting in no action from the telescope mount resulting in timeouts and ultimately a failed connection.It could be that just I am just unlucky but there's a legitimate chance the batch being sold here may yield some that do not function - so be careful.

After connecting it to my computer I downloaded the Prolific drivers as instructed which promptly told me the chip in the cable was not genuine therefore the cable was returned. I have a V5 Synscan on my Skywatcher EQM-35 and subsequently discovered it uses a standard printer USB connection anyway.

Unlike the one that I purchased direct from China, this one actually uses a genuine FTDI chip and connected to my Windows 10 laptop within seconds of plugging it in. I disagree strongly with FTDI’s approach to actively trying to trash 3rd party chips, but it’s currently the only game in town.

Il cavo in questione è del tipo con attacco a 8 pin (tipo rj45) che si connette al posto della pulsantiera (Ho una Skywatcher EQ6 r pro). Provato sia su pc con Windows che su Raspberry e funziona alla grande su entrambi. Servono ovviamente i driver Ascom Eqmod. Unica pecca è che esclude l'uso della pulsantiera ma una volta imparati i comandi da pc non la rimpiangerete..anzi

Das Kabel ist optisch einwandfrei und wird vom PC erkannt. Allerdings scheint der Handkontroller meiner EQ3-2 nichts mit den Daten anfangen zu können, da sich mein Teleskop nicht bewegt hat. Daher habe ich das Kabel wieder zurück gesendet. Da ich nicht genau sagen kann, ob es an dem Kabel oder der Softwar / SynScan Handkontroller liegt, gebe ich trotzdem 3 Sterne, da ich glaube dass das Kabel theoretisch funktioniert hätte.
