British business mogul Rikkard Ambrose has departed London to face his arch-rival in a deadly game of espionage and intrigue at the Royal Court of France, leaving his lady love behind to knit socks and twiddle her thumbs.Left behind alone? That is not something Lilly Linton is willing to put up with! Determined to show her boss who's boss, she embarks on her most dangerous adventure yet, armed with the most powerful weapon of all: love-and, just in case, her trusted revolver. The 5th volume of Robert Thier's award-winning Storm and Silence series. Review: Indeed - I am biased because Mr. Thier can do no wrong in my eyes when it comes to two of my favorite characters and series. So with that, I loved this book and seriously cannot wait for more. I wish these series never end. But at last, all good things do. Need the next read ASAP! On that note, Mr. Thier... โTime is money, is knowledge, is power!โ So off you should go! Please and thank you. Review: Soo good! - I love these books so much! Rob Their is amazing and I could read these over and over again! The tales of Rikkard Ambrose, Lily Linton, and Karim never get old! *Rob does take some historical creative in liberties and I personally enjoy it!

Do yourself a favor and read this series
I look forward to every release. These books are quirky and a bit outlandish but so enjoyable. I've reread all of them several times, if you enjoy some snark, witty banter, and adventure with a little romance thrown in, Storm and Silence series is for you. Highly recommend.

Love this
I love this series. I don't want it to end. The give and take between these two is smirky & wonderful.

These series are so addictive!
There is something about the Storm and Silence series that lures you in. Although I felt the author dragged this story a bit, I still couldnโt manage to put down the book. The romance between Lilly and Mr. Ambrose is so addictive and banter between is even better. Although I absolutely adore these series, I think itโs time Sir Rob starts thinking about giving a happy ending to this beautiful and funny couple.

Not good enough
This 5th installment in the series take us back to the usual dynamics between Mr. Coldman Ambrose and Mr/Miss Linton. Though the humourous dialogues are still there, the novel lacks pace and is scarcely believable. For the entire series I've accepted such a behaviour as the one of Miss Linton, knowing it couldn't possibly have happened in the rigid Victorian society, unless you would have wanted to be outcasted by your own family and for you to end in a miserable condition. The adventures set in the first half of the novel fall flat, since we undoubtedly know who will win at the end. The bad guy, aka Lord Dalgliesh, is just a minor character and never really puts the protagonists at risk. I find it a big flaw of the entire plot. That is a shame, since I loved all the historical notes and accuracy of the various historical figures as well as the information about the daily lives of the people and their misconceptions, popular in the nineteenth century. The second part of the story is really really dragging, with so many wasted pages on secondary and uninteresting characters and their problems and dilemmas. Even the satisfactory conclusion cannot re-evaluate the whole novel, so poor in contents this time. I suggest to read this book only to the fans of the series, keeping in mind it certainly isn't as enjoyable as the first three novels.

Waiting eagerly for Storm of Bells
Funny and spiffing! It's a vey captivating story and I couldn't stop turning pages. I recommend the series for summer holidays! Pity that Mr Ambrose didn't spend more money on proofreading, especially for French parts!
