I think if you want something big and comfy I would get a big size. I am 1,67 cm and slim. But M would be fine as well.

Q: What size would fit a Mens 44" chest? - Need to get this as a Christmas present.

Normally it would be a x large, with Amazon clothing I would go two more sizes up they are small fitting and the body tend to be slim fitting.
