I hate this very expensive blow dryer
I hate this very expensive blow dryer. It is like being in a wind tunnel. Even on the lowest setting, it is very hard to control air blasting other onto sections of my hair besides the one I'm working on at the moment. I had read a similar review elsewhere, thought the person was probably just inexperienced with sectioning and drying hair...boy do I wish I had heeded their warning. I love good hair dryers. I hate this one.

FAST, not too hot, pleasant noise level
I purchased this from Sally's in person yesterday. It does in fact cut down drying time, from 25 minutes to 10 minutes! The noise is 86 decibles, but there is no high pitched engine noise, it's just wind rushing noise, not unpleasant at all.I haven't been using an argan oil, as many recommend and my ends got a little tangled from the wind.. I was concerned my split ends were being blown apart as they do on a windy day. But when I inspected them later in the morning there were actually less than usual to trim off. I will likely get something for the ends just to make the brush glide through a little smoother with the wind. The highest heat setting is not "very hot". It is pleasantly hot, but nothing that would even come close to burning your scalp if left on a spot for several seconds. The wind power reminds me a little of the Xcelerator hand dryers in restrooms now. The force of the wind is really what makes the difference in the drying speed. I researched what "brushless" motors are as well. They basically cut down on the engine noise and significantly increase motor life due to the way they function. They also make it lighter. The dryer is ONE pound. Feels very light! The cool switch stays in place when you switch it. I did hit it by accident twice, got a little chilly pretty quick, but that is just a matter of becoming used to where it is.
