Mind Games: The Guide to Inner Space Review: Learn to manage your own mental state, activel deal with your problems - I was introduced to this book long ago in a graduate course called "Altered States of Consciousness Problem Solving Workshop". In this class, using techniques from this book, we learned and develop our ability to put ourselves into deep mind states including lucid dreaming, Alpha waves, programmed sleep periods, managing/directing our own dreams, and - the workshop aspect - participating in responses to directed group experiments such as answering questions about the future from an experiential point of view, in a kind of self-hypnosis state. E.g. suggestion: "You are at one of the [then very new] banking machines [ATMs]. What are you experiencing?" From this period I was able - among other abilitues - for many years to put myself to sleep for times between 10 minutes and over 8 hours, wake up refreshed. This was handy in college! 😉 Now I want to revisit the self-training I learned in order to be able to go into those states, and potentially I may also use them in conjunction with some other state-altering tools such as psilocybin, as they become legalized. In my state, psilocybin in particular is already on its way to becoming legal in medically controlled sessions. I believe the methods in this book are a good approach for both group sessions where a leader provides instruction to achieve mental states, and individual work to build more understanding and control of our own mental states. IANA psychologist, but IMHO this could be valuable for many people with issues such as PTSD, neurosis, depression, etc. to take control of their own problems. Review: Experience a Psychological Awakening - Mind Games has instantly become the single most meaningful and transformative book that I have ever read. The potential existing within the human brain and mind is infinite; it is only bound by the constraints that we as a society have placed upon it. Once these bonds are broken, we can truly learn to think and feel, thus allowing creativity, spirituality, and imagination to manifest at its highest ability within us to create an awareness far greater than one could ever conceive before this mental "awakening". After participating in these "Mind Games", a person will be better equipped to deal with the challenges we all face as humans. Opening certain psychological pathways (through the mind games) has proven to be beneficial in allowing participants to learn new skills, approach problem-solving from new perspectives, learn about themselves (who they really are internally), and better understand our fellow human beings. I would highly suggest this book to anyone who is interested in realizing their full potential and who is willing to take a journey inside their own self in order to discover who they really are and who they can become. These Mind Games are adventures, and though I have written about self discovery, most of these "trips"(no psychadelics involved) are to be experienced together with others (people we feel comfortable with and care deeply about). Fun games
I bought this book for a group of us to do the exercises together on a weekly basis. It was a great starting off point, but we found after several meetings, some of the games were a little corny and were not providing the material we had expected. In general a good starter book for those who have never had any experience with imagery, meditation, and journeying. But if you are well versed in these things, while this book is fun, the exercises may seem pretty elementary.

I have done a few so far and the ones I loved were ones with music
Have read a few pages and is very interesting guide to unlocking the mind. You will need a group of people to complete these exercises. I have done a few so far and the ones I loved were ones with music. Basically you sit and listen to music with eyes closed / lights off. You then try to recieve the music in different mediums such as taste, smell, and visual. Very interesting and excited to dive deeper into the book

Psychadelic Experiences and Personal Growth
When I first came across this book I was rather sceptical about hypnosis in specific and the psychadelic experience in general. If you can find a close friend or two (or up to five or six) to play these "games" all the way through you will find yourself in a much better place. Not only are the games fun and educational, they help develop imagination, intuition, and other faculties you didnt know you had. (or I didnt know I had anyway) Personal development aside, the exersizes in this book make for a great way to relax and help reduce stress and fatigue. I enjoyed the book imensley and tip my hat to Masters and Houston for putting it together. Thanks.

John Lennon's favortie book and I can see why. It will set you forward thinking deeply about issues not readily discussed in your common environment.

Another great coffee table book from the 60`s
Another great coffee table book from the 60`s, John Lennon was on to something big, they still have games organized in the Great northwest for many. Very unique and mind expanding without the drugs.
