Use the guide rails and enjoy the cleaner air.
Fits perfectly, I can already tell the air smells better and is better filtered than the one that was in it already. The price was good for what it is, but there are cheaper options. I opted to go for this one because it was mid range and had the activated carbon in it. If you haven't replaced one in a mini before, the door is under the glove box, and the filter slides into some curved rails to guide it into place. The previous owner of my car didn't see the tiny guide rails because it was just shoved in.

Cleaner air, less musty!
This fit perfectly in my 2012 mini cooper hardtop. I hadn’t changed the filter since buying the car years ago, and thought it was probably important to do so. The old filter was so disgusting, I’m glad I changed it. This filter feels nice and maybe it’s just a placebo but I really do feel like the air conditioning in my car smells less musty after having replaced the ancient filter. It was super easy to replace, the spot for it in my car was right under the glove compartment. So far it’s working well. Totally worth it.

Better Than the Stock One IMO
The stock filter on my 2012 Countryman was completely trashed and this replacement actually seemed higher quality and better built. Installing this despite how Mini designed the filter housing was not difficult. This eliminated the funky smells I'd get before I replaced it. I also use this brand for my Honda and I've never had an issue. Would recommend! P.S. Before I forget! Arrows pointing down on the Countryman.

Fits R53 Mini
No plastic frame and somewhat shorter compared to the OEM filter. Fits our mini well: easy to install under the glove compartment. Threads into the slots easily. Seems to work well. Good value for price
