Makes Terminating Ethernet Cables Much Easier
If you have ever tried terminating Ethernet cables the old way, these pass through connectors are a huge improvement. Instead of guessing if your wire order is correct before crimping, the wires pass through the front of the connector so you can clearly see the arrangement before you crimp it. That alone saves a lot of frustration and wasted connectors. The plastic housing feels solid and the gold plated contacts make good clean connections once crimped. I used these with Cat6 cable and they seated well without any weird fitment issues. As long as you are using the proper pass through crimp tool, the extra wire trims cleanly during the crimp. For anyone wiring a home network, running drops, or just making custom patch cables, these make the process much faster and far more forgiving. After using pass through connectors like these it is honestly hard to go back to the old style.

Not for the faint of heart, but good when you get there hang of it.
First off, I've never done this before, so the first few were torturous. Once I got the hang of it, it got easier. The key is to straighten the wire ends as much as humanly possible before you try pushing them through. It also helps to keep pliers handy to pull through in the beginning, if pushing isn't enough.

VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW these will NOT work with direct bury SHEILDED cables
My own fault, I suppose. I used TrueCable direct buy SHIELDED cable. It is 23AWG solid. Glancing at these, you would think they would work, but one needs to read carefully (my fault). The maximum INSULATED thickness is 1.05 mm ... the shielded direct bury has a thickness of 1.12 mm. These simply won't work with that. I will use them for in the house runs, but am kicking myself for not checking the insulate thickness max. The one star ding is that they (TrueCable) could have put in parens (will not work with shielded 6a cable--from TrueCable).

Made terminating cables a breeze
The extra price of these are 100% worth it over the no-name brands. These worked flawlessly. Went on smooth, all conductors slid into place, crimped perfectly with no hiccups.

REDACTED & EDITED ~ Reliability: 50/50 Yet Somehow 100% Failure
NEW EDIT: After not hearing anything from this review I found TrueCable's direct contact on their website (truecable.com for reference) and sent a very similar message to the one here. The NEXT DAY Don, presumably the face of the company, calls me directly and makes it right! The problem IS NOT with the heads. It's actually the cable used. But my cable is known to be good you say? How you ask? Well, TrueCable branded these heads as XL meant for a thicker conductor cable (for example the TruCable CAT6A Plenum Unsheilded with an insulated conductor diameter of 1.08mm). The cable I'm using (and perhaps many of you here with this issue) has too small of a conductor diameter causing the issues. Naively myself (and perhaps a few among us) figured 23AWG is 23AWG and that's that! I mean, not many companies making / selling cable lists the internal diameter of their conductors down to the MM. The reality is, even for a seasoned 15 year veteran like myself, there ARE in fact oversights. This was one of them! Don from TrueCable is sending me over the correct heads for my current Cable Matters CAT6 cable to replace what I bought here. I don't know about your experience but this is the first time a real person who knows what they're talking about from the company you're buying equipment and consumables from calls you, knows what's going on, how to fix it and makes it right for you. I was a Klein only guy for years. That has changed! Thank you Don and TrueCable! OLD REDACTED: I'm using these with Cable Matters CAT6 UL Listed CM Rated 23AWG solid copper wire, a Klein VDV226-110 crimper and testing them with the Klein LAN Scout Jr 2. About half the time after the initial crimp one of the two heads has failed requiring I go back, cut the head and recrimp. The ones that have survived the initial crimp tend to fail if manipulated a few times requiring I cut the head and recrimp. I consider the heads that survived or that have been fixed a failure waiting to happen. Perhaps it's the teeth used or the design of the head but something is causing these to be garbage. If you're on site with these DO NOT use them. If you're at home...pray they don't fail.
