DC Power Jack Socket, 4-Pack 5.5mm x 2.5mm Barrel Mounting Female Panel Mount Solder Power Supply Jack Connector Adapter Socket

One of my clients needed a test fixture they could use to test the 19V ac adapters they use in their products. They asked me to design a test fixture that would give their technicians a simple pass-fail readout. I put together the fixture shown in the photo to test the adapters under both load and no-load conditions and give a red light/green light indication of pass/fail. The client's ac adapters use 5.5x2.5mm plugs, and since the client will be testing many ac adapters over the course of a production run, I needed a socket that would remain reliable over many insertion-withdrawal cycles. I selected this socket, which is very well made, is easy to solder, and has held up well so far. To further reduce wear and tear on this socket I will probably make an additional jumper cable using one of the other two sockets that came in the same package. That way if the socket the ac adapter under test plugs into eventually wears out it's a simple matter of replacing the jumper cable rather than having to take the fixture apart and solder in a new socket. And by the way, all the other components on the test fixture's front panel also came from Amazon.

I wanted to convert my label maker to AC power from batteries. This plug was exactly what I needed. It was the exact size that I needed for the power supply that I ordered. It screws together very well and tight. The ends were easy to solder to. I would recommend this plug if you need one. I would purchase it again if needed. (Yes, the hole is cut a bit over-sized, was not paying attention. Has nothing to do with the quality of the plug)

Used this to add a DC power plug to a battery powered trash can. It seems high quality and held up even with soldering.

Yes works for me

I got these as mates for the all metal male barrel connectors and they are just as good quality. Solid machining, clean finish, and good connection design. Soldering is easy and they have worked very well for me. Seeing how just spending a few pennies more for this gets you so much better quality. I am never buying cheaper hardware again.

be careful, I like the fact they tell you how to wire it, where to solder your negative and positive wire, the picture does not match the directions so think about it a little before you solder the wires on, it makes me think about more complicated electronics that I have bought and if the directions were correct, all in all seems like a good product the plug fits tight and that was important to me that it would be a firm connection, haven't wired it in yet that will be the true test,

This particular connector met my needs. Its small and requires a far smaller penetration into my device than other optional connectors.

These require a 10.6mm chassis hole and look very nice and work well. It was easy to solder on the wires and some heat shrink tubing fits very nicely onto the terminals.
