Not much here
I kept this book, only because it has an enlargement of each of the featured engraving that shows the markings that Hogarth made in the engraving process. This book does not tell anything about Hogart, or any of the engravings.

It’s Hogarth!
Great etchings but not a good book. Beware as some pages are duplicated, eg p58 & p66.Captions are unfinished on some pages ie ‘the vicar reading the gospel with a pair of magnifying”Only because it’s Hogarth work that I’m keeping the tome. If it was another book then it would be returned.

Genius painter, ok book
Not too bad for pulp pages. A couple of problems, the pictures that were part of a series were not in sequence, making the journey Mr Hogarth wanted us to take much harder than it ought to have been. The other one was that it is literally a book of pictures with their titles and details on the faxing pages... No descriptions or accompanying narrative unfortunately - which would have been fantastic.I'm not displeased by this because it's of one of my favourite artists, so even a bad book would be good!

Images are very faint
Disappointed with the quality of the images, the lack of range, and the author's narrative descriptions. I'm a fan of Hogarth and this book of prints did him and his work a disservice.

Photocopies disguised as a reference book
This is graphically very disappointing and is nothing more than a number of low quality photocopied images

Pictures could be clearer
I had to order another copy as the first had a black line through every other page but turnaround was excellent and no quibble. It was not as clear as I expected but the book was not expensive.
