I really enjoy this game. I have been having a great time playing it. However, if you are not into turn-based RPGs, and you are not willing to pay $12.95 a month to play it, this game is not for you. If you are a fan of turn-based games, this is a fun and exciting game. It helps if you have friends that play it as well. I love leveling in parties, but solo leveling is not always easy at higher levels. It becomes very tedious at times. I do enjoy raising chocobos and gaining new weapon skills. This game is a great RPG that deserves a chance to prosper. Yes, there are areas of the game that can and probably will drive you a little nuts. However, it can be a fun and entertaining challenge for turn-based RPG fans everywhere.

(Seriously, just do a little homework before you buy *anything* online and you'll make better decisions - it really is that simple!)This IS the ultimate *FFXI* collection -- you get everything that cost others TONS of money all packaged into one little $15-$20 deal.I've been playing FFXI since October of 2004 and while it is a huge time-sink, I have had some INCREDIBLE experiences with this game. I have met some amazing people and we've accomplished a lot together but no matter how much you actually do, there's always plenty more to do as well. I played this game years ago when it released for PS2 (PlayStation 2)and the core of the game still remains solid. It is one of the most story driven MMO's (Massively Multi-player Online game) to date. It still has new expansions on the horizon. However the amount of players online have significantly decreased. Further still, the remaining adventurers are mostly to high level to party with. So if you are a newcomer, I would recommend getting some friends to play along with you. Further still, if you invite other new players, you can get unique items to benefit everyone. On the bright side though, most of the players who do remain online are friendly and helpful. One of the greatest advantages to this game over other MMO's is it's multi-platform accessibility. It is not only a PC (Personal Computer) game. You can play on the same servers with people playing on PS2, 360, (XBox 360) and PC. Overall, if you are into fantasy, story driven settings, I would recommend this title. Happy Hunting!

I just got this game a few days ago so I haven't really played it much. You really need to read the manual for this game. Especially to get started. I was completely lost at first until I read the manual. The one thing that I really don't like is that the NPCs don't actually talk. You have to read what they're saying. I guess that's typical for Final Fantasy games. I'm just use to other MMORPGs like WoW. Other than that, this game is very entertaining and I can't wait to get further into it.

I agree with K.Hinson, this is really the trully FFXI Ultimate collection since you get all 4 main expansion: RoZ, CoP, ToAU and WoTG plus the 3 recently add-ons which only those being buy digital cost $9.99 e/oI have been another FFXI player since February 2004 and this is one of the most amazing, never ending games I ever play!It really worths the $12.99 monthly fee and I'd recomend to buy it specially if you want to be ready and know what's coming for FFXIV.If you make up your mind and buy game you welcome to join us at our forums:[...]We're a FFXI and FFXIV Linkshell/guild and you can join us in FFXI game on Midgarsormr (Quetzalcoatl after we merge with that server) server look for Ganondorf over there that's my FFXI nickname rawr! ^^

Well, I bought this game a week ago and attempted to register for an account with playonline. During the registration process there was a non-specific error. After checking all the fields (since it didn't say which one had an error) I gave up and thought I'd try again later. BIG MISTAKE! The registration code is only good ONCE. Even if you don't complete the registration, once it has been entered that's that. It's gone.I then emailed support. This was NO help. They asked me for some account information and then sent me an email saying they can't handle this issue via email. They included a link to the contact section of their site where the ONLY FORM OF CONTACT IS EMAIL! I'm at a loss. Now after a week of trying to register and fighting with an automated customer service system I just want to get my wasted time back.In short I would give this zero stars since I can't even play it! Come on Square-Enix...
