AgriStar Clethodim 2E 1 Gallon Herbicide

This product works well to remove grasses when you don’t want to kill other plants. I am doing a prairie restoration and needed to remove non-native grasses that are infesting desirable areas. They include Reed canary grass, bluegrass, tall fescue, and various bromes.I’ve had to experiment with the mixture a bit. What seems to work best is 1.5 to 2 ounces of Clethodim along with 2 teaspoons of a good non-ionic surfactant per gallon of water.It will take about 3 weeks before the grass starts to turn brown so you need to be patient. Other non-grass plants are unaffected.

If you're unfamiliar with clethodim, use it to control grass, where you want to protect broadleaf plants.It is SLOW acting, use as directed, then wait, wait, then wait some more. It will work. You will need some type of oil to aid in translocation into the plant. The label clearly states this. I use Clethodim for controlling grass in clover food plots. It works very well and is cost effective. The seller delivered the product quickly and it was well packed so as not to leak. Very satisfied.

This is great for killing invasives Japanese stiltgrass and wavyleaf basketgrass.BUT: the spot mix ratio provided on Amazon (0.1-0.2 oz/gal of water) is WRONG. Page 5 of the product label says 0.33-0.65 oz/gal. Its a small difference, but is the difference between killing the grass in one pass and being efficient with your time, and almost killing it and creating herbicide-resistant invasives. Hopefully the seller updates the description to be accurate and helpful.

Worked great used a pint with a pint of clethodim 2e on one acre killed the grass

This product takes a couple weeks to see results. That's how it works, there is no way to speed it up. I sprayed my clover 4 weeks ago, and last week every bit of grass that was sprayed was dead. Be sure to use surfactant as well.
