Bit Coding Robot (Red)

Great robot toy for younger kids! It basically bridges the gap between 'robots' which are remote controlled toys and robots which require actual programming. They can follow lines drawn on a piece of paper, and you can draw simple commands with markers on the track (speed up, spin around, etc) with a stripe system they worked out. They're also actually programmable. These things are awesome - we ended up ordering a 2nd starter pack so that we can have 'races' between two robots.Between the two starter packs, an pack of pre-printed stickers with commands that we picked up in addition to the starter pack, and a giant pad of paper (think 3ft by 2.5 ft), we've had an amazing time with this toy. Just the starter pack is pretty neat on its own, too!

Bought a red and a blue version of the ozobot for each of my children. They are 5 and 6 year old daughters and fun to watch them play. The recent 5 year old doesnt fully get it outside just drawing a line on paper for it to follow or using the app on the iPad for the robot to dance or something. My 6 year old you can see the brain thinking as she uses the different markers to make the robot follow what the different colors mean as she draws out the instructions on a piece of paper. Its great to have something that can they can interact and with and challenge them on the iPad instead of just letting them play what I consider cheesy games from the app store

This was a gift for my nieces and nephews and we had robot wars. It was fantastic and one of my favorite memories with them. It was challenging for them, but they got a lot out of it and felt accomplished in the end. Depending on the age of the kids it may require some adult help and support. They love it, but it was partly because we spent a lot of time working on it together. I bought one for myself afterward because it was so much fun.

As a veteran educator, I'm always looking for the next best educational toy. With Ozobot, I've found it. The out of the box ease of use is great. Having markers, stickers, full color code sheets ready to go, means that my 4 year old nephew could use it as well as my 8 and 9 year old students.I have 8 and my adult friends like them as well. We've program dance offs, races and super long maps for our own entertainment.Don't hesitate in buying atleast 2 to maximize the fun!

The robot and idea is actually pretty cool and mostly works well. However, if you ask Ozobot if Blocky (the programming language) is included they will tell you that it IS included if it is an Ozobot BIT as opposed to a regular Ozobot without the Bit. (See the attached conversation with them.) If you try to actually use Blockly though it will require an additional $10 payment. Even if you do make the payment, the Ozobot will require you to login to use Blocky unlike the clear and black versions where you can use Blocky without first logging into an account that has paid the extra money. So I like the robot but I'm giving this a 1 star because what Ozobot says is included with a Ozobot Bit before you buy it is different than what you end up with after you buy it. Maybe the listing is wrong here, but multiple calls to Ozobot trying to figure out what was going on just ended with them always telling me to pay the extra money because it would be a "better deal" than shipping it back.

for the budding techie somewhere in between all those legos...the possibility of a new world emerges. And through the cities of towering blocks on marker colored roads....robotics and coding become the new frontier.... I think it was a good choice

I love this Ozobot it was fun to play with, the activity book was very helpful to understand how to use ozobot I found it very interestingto play with and

this was a gift for my son. He wanted this since summer camp and was very excited to receive it. however our kit didn't include markers for drawing the track. it is useless without the markers. there is no way to contact Ozobot about this and the markers are out of stock in EVERY possible website. however, i should not need to buy markers since there are supposed to be in the STARTER pack. to make it worse, the red bot is not in stock and appears to be discontinued on the ozobot website so we can't order a replacement either. VERY disappointed.
