Read THIS ignore the others you'll see why.
Took delivery today of the Russell Hobbs light weight steam iron, if you read the other reviews you wouldn't buy it , I looked beyond that and purchased this iron. The iron arrived in a Russell Hobbs Box, all intact and cable ties, plug prong protectors and totally brand new. No obvious water in the tank, but if there had then I would expect this as they must test these for leaks and steam production also the real give away is the sticker stating may contain some residual water after testing, see picture. The iron was only half filled for this test and duly plugged in to heat up, set to max on the dial and steam setting to Max. The power indicator lit and came up to the set temperature very quickly. I chose a shirt to give it the hardest test possible, a pure linen that was creased from the wash and now bone dry (would normally iron this damp) this was going to be tough. The video is awkward as both hands needed to iron but one holding the camera so not the best view. The iron dealt with the linen like a champ and produced very acceptable results. How people can say it doesn't get hot enough or it looked used .....(I take these with a pinch of salt, read between the lines). Using occasional extra bursts of steam where needed for stubborn creases. Over all the result was very good, over the next couple of weeks I will be giving it further trials on varied shirts , jeans and trousers and update this review then. The iron is well made , soleplate well fitted and finished producing good results to the tested linen shirt. Care will be needed with the water filler cover as excessive force will cause the pivots to break , also the steam selector must be in the center position or it fouls the water flap when opening, just a care item not a deal breaker. The mains cable is only 2m (previous Russell Hobbs iron was 3m) I adequate but slightly too short , standard modern manufacturing cost cutting.Amazon don't give a weight for this iron , most irons are anything from 1.1kg to 1.5kg so I weighed this one 720g that is light, see the pictures. All in all this light weight iron is a winner, with regards to the "alledged used ones with water in" I doubt it , seeing as all electrical items manufactured need to be tested especially ones with water, the giveaway is the sticker actually on the iron water tank and also on the box stating may contain remains of testing water .......need I say more .I will update this review after a few weeks of use but so far well deserved of the 5StarsVery good value at £19.79 ( annoying that the next day its on at £18.99 )UpdateAfter much use this iron still performs beautifully and well worth the money , light weight in use but does not affect its effectiveness in removing creases. 10/10

Great Iron But Chord Could Be Longer
Lovely light-weight iron that glides over the clothes when ironing. I don't use the steam function as I always spray my ironing with a squirty bottle. I find the 2m chord a little too short though. If it had a little longer chord, say 2.5m or 3m, it would be perfect.

Loved it, but
I have weakness in my hands & joints and was looking for a lightweight iron as normal ones are too heavy for me.I absolutely loved it when it arrived after purchasing it in Aug 25. However at the end of June 26 (within the 12 month warranty), it simply stopped working. We checked & changed the fuse, tried it in different sockets etc, all to no avail. I contacted Morphy Richards who referred me back to Amazon.I don’t find the repair/refund route easy to navigate at all.I’m hoping to contact customer services when they are ‘live’ - Mon-Fri 9-4.Update, had ‘live chat’ with Amazon customer services & delighted to report they are going to refund me.Well done Amazon, thank you.
