Very nice, sturdy, light weight, all around good bow.
Review of Red SAS 36lb bow;I really like this bow, it is easy to assemble and seems very sturdy and has strong straight limbs, string is okay for now. I put a $7 arrow rest on using the threaded hole on riser and a couple of nocks on the bowstring. Shoots very well and seems consistent. To make quieter I (like others) put some soft Velcro on the ends of the limbs where the string hits, and a couple of rubber whisker dudes on the string. Now it is very quiet when the arrow is released. The bow is light weight and fun to shoot. With some practice and maybe a sight installed I will get better. Not bad at 20 yards, hardly any arrow drop with the cheap aluminum arrows (125gr tips) I bought for first tryout. In fact it hits hard enough to stick the target arrows in a pine tree and bend them from the impact, when I miss the target. Oops, need hay bales!!I plan to get better light weight arrows and keep shooting as the weather gets better.Bow Looks Pretty-- I bought the red riser bow and it is very nice looking with the white limbs. Very pretty if that matters to you, I have wrapped my whole bow in camo tape and camo -painted the red riser area for hunting. Now it is quiet and stealthy. Can always put back to stock.I also plan to put a reel, fishing rest, and a fishing arrow for spring carp shooting, I am sure it will work well, plenty of power with a full 30 inch draw.Hope this helps, great bow for the money. Jeff D. ---They say you can buy heavier limbs later, but, for me this is enough, (Have no doubt it could take a deer with the right arrows, inside 30 yds range)

Excellent beginner/intermediate bow.
Excellent beginner/intermediate bow. I wanted to try a heavier bow after shooting 20-25 lb longbows. Chose this one as it was offered during a "Today's deals" sale and got it for 89.99. The aluminum riser is well finished and the limbs match it perfectly. I got a 34 lb draw. Easy to assemble.I am 5'2" and this bow, at 66", could be considered too big for me. However, my criteria is that if I can string it, I can shoot it. I can indeed string it with the aid of a bow stringer but this will be the limit on length for me. Fortunately I don't think I will even want another bow. The riser is cast and drilled for common accessories such as sight, stabilizer, arrow rest, etc. I added a stick-on arrow rest and finger savers to the string and so far that's all I need or want. Instinctive shooting has improved greatly since I got this bow. Mine likes 30" feather fletched wooden arrows best so far.

Nice shooting bow.
Bought two of them. Both bows are great and shoot well. The only issue experienced was one of the bow strings broke a strand on the first day of shooting. I will get in touch with Southland Archery Supply and ask for a replacement.

Love, love, love this bow, and I have tried a few.
This is a beautiful bow. I wanted a lighter-weight metal riser, and this fit the bill. The ghost camo is nicer than I thought with a hint of pink. Easy to handle and to add accessories to. I got the 28lb draw wt, I am 5'2" and 60 yo and it is perfect for me. With the amazing price, it can not be beat!

Not quite what she wanted 😕
Trying to email the company. It’s a nice bow but the string is to close to the handle and hits your hand when you shoot it. She isn’t happy and I have no email to message the company. Other then that it’s a nice bow.

The Samick Sage is Great, however the draw stacks at about 28 inches
I am fairly new to the sport and started with the " Samick Sage 30# " a similar recurve. I am about 6 foot tall with long arms. The Samick Sage is Great, however the draw stacks at about 28 inches. The Explorer 34# comes 6 inches longer and pulls smooth to full draw. Explorer is easy to assemble Good Quality, Good looking tough Bow. I recommend any tall archer consider the Explorer as a good investment. I bought the blue one and it looks great.

Great Bow at a Great Price
I used this bow for the first time this week and I love it. The quality is comparable to higher priced metal riser recurves. It's very easy to put together and it looks and functions like a higher priced bow. I would recommend this bow to everyone. Also it's very stylish and will turn heads, if that is what you are into. I personally love the way it shoots and I can't wait to take it back to the range this weekend.I got the version that has 36 lbs limbs and I feel the draw is more than 36 lbs, maybe closer to 50 lbs. You can also purchase limbs in other weights from amazon as well. Just look for the replacement limbs of the SAS Spirit, they both use the same limbs.

Highly uncomfortable grip
Grip is uncomfortable even at 36lb draw, hot spots immediately form, especially painful is the top of the thumb join that is pushed against the top of the riser grip frame. Skin gets torn after about 20-30 shots, and with higher weight limbs it'll be really painful to hold it on the draw. Looking into how to replace the grip, otherwise will have to change the riser or the entire bow if it comes to that.
