Would this clean and polish the slide too?

If you are asking if it will polish the exterior of your stainless steel 1911 slide, yes it will. I use it exclusively for the second step with JB’s bore cleaner. As for metal polish I use a brand “Flitz” metal polish. Comes in a tube. It works great. Made in Germany. I am pretty sure I bought some Flitz on Amazon in the past. Have fun.

Is this the same as the blue jar? Does it also scrub the barrel?

The jar with the blue lettering is the bore cleaner. I use hoppes solvent to remove powder fouling and clean that up and the use jbs per the instructions and the red lettering on the jar jbs bore bright to finish
