John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Band: In Their Own Words & with Contributions from the People Who Were There

Released and Received on the 40th. Anniversary release of 'Double Fantasy'. For those of us who don't forget, what a beautiful way to celebrate the release. 1970 was a beginning for John and Yoko and from what I've seen so far gives a pretty full account of their early years up to the Plastic Ono Band. From 'Give Peace a Chance' through the 'Imagine' album, it was a most creative and magical time for those of us who followed their music and lives. Not even Dylan came close during this period. This book represents a significant part of this chapter of their lives and the most important years in the social and human rights of awareness in America's political arena. For me it's all been deeply personal and relevant in my life. It was during these years my social and political awareness developed and rose into a creative and long-term writing career. Without these years, I would have no square one. Thank you John and Yoko and the Plastic Ono Band.

Great pictures and essays

Item arrived in good condition from Amazon. This was an interesting read; a lot of insight into the relationship between John and Yoko, and the influence on John's post-Beatles musical output. Too bad the deluxe release of the Plastic Ono Band album(s) couldn't have been released at the same time!

I enjoyed it because it covered The Plastic Ono Band quite heavily--which is what I wanted. I now know more about the big musical break that changed the life of drummer Alan White, just prior to his joining YES in July 1972.

Interesting book with a lot of info you might not know.

I miss John Lennon. This book is a complete coverage of the period of John’s first and best solo album - The Plastic Ono Band.

Yoko's book with a lot of artful pictures for example pages of tiny portraits of the same thing. Not for me. I'm sending it back. Be prepared to pay a 20% fee for return plus shipping. Not a typical Amazon business transaction.

Ce superbe livre hélas uniquement disponible en anglais (mais parfaitement compréhensible avec un niveau 3eme)) se charge de nous faire partager un des grands instant de la rock music.
