I recommend taking out the top spacer for strain relief if you plan on using Techflex sleeve or heat shrink. (I've only used WATTGATE connectors so YMMV. I didn't see any shielding but I haven't had any problems with EMI with regards to my speaker cable. (Kimber 8TC and 4TC) so I think the braiding system works well at cancelling out EMI. Ultimately I will replace all my mains with Belden 83803 12 AWG 3 Conductor wire. For great mains replacement on a budget, this cable is great quality and I think you'd be pleased with the result if you use high quality terminations. For a great look, Techflex clean cut high temp looks amazing and give it the premium look, you can get black with a white tracer or white with a black tracer.
