Which revision is this unit? TH4.6 or newer?

It's the newest version, Joe. TH5.0. It's the best designed license-free unit ever designed, in my experience.

How important is it to use the 3m included antenna. I already have an old antenna in my house. Is there any "matching" issues w the transmitter?

If your old antenna is anything other than a 3m length of wire, the transmitter will not likely be able to calibrate (match) to it. If you're looking to use something other than a wire antenna, we offer the Range Extender RE2.5 Outdoor Antenna and Tuner on Amazon. ASIN B07TLNS2DF.

On this AM transmitter, what is a good antenna to use for the outside antenna coax connector that is on the back of the unit. What would i use.

A Remote Antenna and Tuner, specifically designed for this transmitter and the iAM Radio Transmitter - which has higher quality audio, also on Amazon - will be available this spring.
