"Animal pals Alex (Ben Stiller), Marty (Chris Rock), Melman (David Schwimmer) and Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith) are still trying to make it back to New York's Central Park Zoo. They are forced to take a detour to Europe to find the penguins and chimps who broke the bank at a Monte Carlo casino. When French animal-control officer Capitaine Chantel DuBois (Frances McDormand) picks up their scent, Alex and company are forced to hide out in a traveling circus." Review: Hilarious - Awesome movie. We love the Madagascar movies. Very fun and funny to watch. Review: Great 3D blu-ray for the family - After watching this on DVD from Netflix, I realized very quickly that this would probably be even better in 3D Blu-Ray. Just finsihed watching it and i have to say that this is hands down the best animated 3D movie in my library. 3D has always been gimmicky.. but thats what makes it fun. It adds a little extra enjoyment to our family movie nights. The added 3D effects on this movie is just great. So much fun to watch. Well worth it the buy.

Am I on Drugs or What?
This movie was a Complete Blast!!! I'm a full grown adult here and this movie was THE Best Ever over the other two! The story line was very adequate, no issue there, but the continuous action in much of the movie completely kept my attention glued, (no house cleaning or ironing watching this!!) the Script(!!)--Hilarious!!--the quips-just kept on coming, the characters--really well rounded, Penguins---my crack up favorite(!), and the Colors in the artistry and backgrounds---for awhile there I thought someone slipped me some LSD right there in theatre! Especially the circus sequence where Katy Perry's song 'Firework' comes on and that was the Perfect song for that part!! (I won't even say how many times I've watched that sequence on dvd with my lap top computer in my face and speakers blaring!) Yes I had a Blast laughing and watching this movie at the theatre (and fortunately the rest of audience seemed to enjoy it as well!), so of course it's a dvd keeper. A kid's show? Sure but somebody is thinking of us adults!

These animals sure turned out to be a fun bunch to watch . I find I look forward to seeing their next movie just after seeing the last one. They put a lot into these movies. The animations WOW!! I go through a bag of popcorn before I know it. The colors they use makes it so believable. The expressions on there faces want to make me laugh. I loved seeing this movie!!

Great movie!
Great movie! Continues with the same characters that we loved from the other movies. Spoiler alert! Tired of waiting for the penguins the seek after to find them. When they find them gambling they are accidentally seen. The people call a lady who hunts animals. They tell her about the lion and then she’s ready to add his head to her wall of animals. All of the animals are trying to run away they find a circus and go with them. When they are going to be kicked out the penguins buy the entire circus. This circus use to be really good but something happened and now they are having a hard time. The team gets them back to where they are doing really good and doing new things. Their desire is back. During all this time they are still being hunted. Will the hunter find them? You’ll have to watch to see the end!

Subreference Spectacular!
I'm the dad reviewing here: Super fun, ridiculous movie. Story line was so-so. That's okay though. Why? Because the characters both old and new were so endearing and well-developed that it doesn't really matter. No kid says "I love the continuity in that subplot about the relationship between King Julien and the bear." No. It's more like "It was funny. Polka-dot Polka-dot Polka-dot Afro!" and it was way funnier than I expected for installment 3. The subreferences to The Matrix, Bond films, and Cirque de Soleil, and zillions of other little things, I was in stitches several times. Actually my kids looked at me sideways wondering what the heck. In addition, the incredible fine details make it worth getting HD, or Bluray. I know I'm gushing, but I don't care -- this series has given me so many good laughs they deserve it. Basset hound! Update 10/17/2012-- I watched it again, on my little Kindle screen, to recover from an episode of Walking Dead. It did the trick, but was so funny I ended up watching the whole thing. The penguins are still the most witty.

Good for the kid inside everyone
Though the Madagascar movies' audience is intended to be young children, I believe anyone can still find humor and enjoyment in the movies. My girlfriend and I can't help but act like we're six years old jumping up and down whenever we watch this movie. This latest installment of the Madagascar movie doesn't require a whole lot of knowledge about the previous movies but it certainly wouldn't hurt to watch all of them.

The animation triumph of 2013
182 five star reviews about this extraordinary smash hit animation says it all really. I'd say it was the best animated film this year, without a doubt. There is so much to love and enjoy in this movie. First off, the visual effects are incredible. The storyline is fantastic, it was so realistic and fun, and the voice talents of the likes of Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer etc are wonderful, each character in the movie is special in their own way, they each played their character so, so well, Ben Stiller & Chris Rock were fantastic, all I can say is that they must have been real fun to work with during filming. The additional characters, such as Gia, Stefano and Vitaly were also so very unique and were voiced to perfection. I could go on and on about every little detail, but I think you know what I thought of this movie! Now it's you're turn, get yourself a copy of this animated triumph, it's the best Madagascar movie yet! You really have to appreciate and enjoy this wonderful movie for yourself. It will not let you down, I can guarantee that. No one can rate this film poorly.

Sur un Bon support 3D
Bon film , amusant ! 3D impeccable , jaillissement à gogo , bonne 3D !

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (blu ray): this is actually a 3D version, heartwarming, with dazzling video & great audio!
MY ADVENTURE IN ORDERING: It should be noted that Amazon.ca has mislabeled this set as blu ray + DVD + Digital Copy. The copy that I received was the 3D version (blu ray 3D + blu ray + DVD + Digital Copy). When this movie was first announced, I enquired about availability of 3D, and did not get a satisfactory answer. If you look carefully at the Amazon.ca website, the 3D version is nowhere to be found. I initially ordered this blu ray set with the colourful wig, and to my dismay, my order was cancelled because it was NOT available, but available at other Amazon.com website. I ordered this set when the price dropped down to $18.00. But, when I received this order, I was overjoyed to find that this set was the 3D version that I was enquiring before. But the trap for the middle spindle was broken. Amazon.ca promptly replaced with another 3D version. Now I am happy. But I notice that the price of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (blu ray) has gone back up to $34.99. VIDEO (2D): Madagascar 3 (2D) arrives at blu ray with MPEG-4 AVC 1080p 1.78:1 encode. The transfer is defined by a dazzling display of rich colour and clarity. It delivers every hue with brilliant accuracy and vibrancy, all of them nearly blinding but nevertheless balanced and pleasant to the eye. Details are exceptional, too. The image is richly complex and breathtakingly sharp. The 1080p resolution captures the finest little traces of animated texturing evident on a variety of surfaces, from rusty metal to fury bodies. This is a reference grade presentation from start to finish. (5/5) VIDEO (3D): Madagasgar 3 (3D) arrives at blu ray with MPEG-4 MVC 1080p 1.78:1 encode. Besides all the good qualities described above, the transfer is also spectacular, stupendous and sensational. The 3D effects are simply out of this world. Right from the get-go during Alex's dream, the faces and noses of characters burst through the screen and often dangle inside my Lee TheatreHD home theatre. Melman's elongated face, in particular, does this to great effect quite a bit thanks to his long neck. The car chase in Monte Carlo is one the most exciting because objects occasionally fly all over the place with every explosion and threaten to smack you in the face. The presentation comes with astonishing depth and dimensionality, as separation of the background from the foreground is consistent throughout. Much of the picture has a fantastic pop-up book effect with a convincing sense of space and distance. This 3D version is definitely of demo quality and one of the best in 2012. Dreamworks have done a great job, and is edging very close to Pixar/Disney. (5/5) AUDIO: Both the 3D and 2D versions have the same fantastic Dolby TrueHD 7.1 lossless track, which serves as the perfect complement to the jaw-dropping video. This is a big, robust sound presentation that is as sonically well defined as the image is visually precise. The track brings the world of Madagascar to life with startling efficiency and clarity. Sound spreads around the stage with a natural presence and high energy. The rears are used often for ambient effects, like the soothing sounds of the wilderness, the bustling noise of the city or the excited cheers of spectators. Dialogue is well-prioritized and intelligible amid the chaos and laughter, making this a highly-engaging and fun lossless mix. The choice of voices for different characters is also excellent: Ben Stiller as Alex, Chris Rock as Marty, David Schwimmer as Melman, Sacha Baron Cohen as Julien, and Cedric The Entertainer as Maurice. The overall result leaves us with a completely satisfied sound experience. (5/5) TRIVIA: Madagascar 3 has an estimated budget of $145 million, and the worldwide gross was $742 million! Did you notice that on the ship at the end that is headed to Madagascar, DuBois' crew are in crates on the upper deck. On the sides of the crates is stenciled Freedom Fries, Freedom Dressing, Freedom Toast and Freedom Dip Sandwiches, a popular joke in the USA to eliminate the name "French" from certain foods? PACKAGING: This set comes with 3 discs: 3D blu ray disc, blu ray disc and DVD disc, plus Digital Copy. FINAL THOUGHTS: This is the 3rd instalment of the Madagascar franchise. Finally bringing the journey back home full circle, Madagascar 3 is a hilarious eye-dazzler, bursting with energy and a great deal of heart. Ben Stiller (Alex), Chris Rock (Marty), David Schwimmer (Melman) and Jada Pinkett Smith (Gloria) reprise their roles and make a few new friends in Martin Short (Stefano), Bryan Cranston (Vitaly), Jessica Chastain (Gia) and Frances McDormand (Captain Chantel DeBois). It is a fun new addition to the quartet's misadventures back to New York and arguably the best of the franchise. As far as video and audio presentation, this third segment is also the best of them all, especially with very immersive 3D experience. If you have a 3D TV and blu ray player, the 3D version (although not advertised by Amazon.ca) is definitely preferred, and is highly recommended. Choose the title Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (blu ray), and hopefully you will receive the 3D version. Good luck!
