3 Pack - Blue Fine Tip Schmidt 888 Rollerball Refill

Exactly what I needed to get my Rotring pen back in action. It was easy to screw the pen apart, remove the old cartridge, insert the new cartridge, and screw back together. Totally obvious: remove the plastic cap on the end of the ink cartridge before reassembling. Pleasant blue ink. To my eye this gives a medium line rather than a fine line, but I'm pleased. Very smooth action -- something you notice if you do a lot of handwriting.

The ink flows from this pen refill like butter. So smooth, so elegant, so perfect. Revived a trash, expensive pen. Now I have a new favorite pen because of this ink. Love the color choices.

I ordered these for an older pen I had that ran out of ink and the insert works beautifully. I had another pen that was fancy carbon fiber, but the ink came out inconsistently and it really wasn't very good so even though it looked very nice, I found myself going for the older pen. Today, I said enough and looked in by drawer and by chance one of the two remaining cartridges fits! wow! I was excited and now my fancy pen has fancy ink and is good for writing. Highly recommended!

I ordered these thinking they were a fit for my Mont Blanc roller ball. Did not fit. But they did fit another roller ball and write fine. So in the end I’m ok.

The ink dries quickly enough to make them suitable for anyone who writes with their left tentacle and are concerned about smearing. The tips are smooth enough to encourage good ink flow and give a pleasant writing experience but sharp enough to give nosebleeds. ...or so a friend told me. End transmission!

I make pens. I mainly do ball points using Parker style refills (also use the Schmidt ez-flo for those). The Schmidt rollerball refills are high quality if you're making capped rollerball pens. Tip if you're frugal: The Pilot G-2 refills are just about the same size as the Schmidt 888 refills--some customers like the feel of the Pilot G-2 better than the Schmidt rollerball.

Ok refills but they are not universal (as stated in the ad). They do not fit my Cross rollerball. They write smoothly and put out a lot of ink. Very vibrant blue color. I don’t think they would skip, given the amount of ink they put out. I would worry about the ink soaking through paper and book pages. IMO, the Cross refills are better, IF you can find them and pay ten bucks OR MORE for the refill. AD2

I bought these to replace the ink on a bond and regent rollerball pen that was gifted to me. These refills work great, the roller ball feels smooth and the ink dries quickly and does not smudge or smear. This value is great as well since a pack of these refills cost less than a pack of quality disposable pens. I have not noticed much skipping from these and when they do it is very easily corrected and not a big deal.

Good quality. However, I find that it is a little too thick for a "fine" refill.
