This is a very high quality salt, pepper or spice grinder. It works perfect for any salt or pepper of your choosing. Grinds it up perfectly! This has a ceramic non-corrosive grinding and milling mechanism for durability. This is a very high end item to have in any kitchen. It functions well and its nice to have high end pieces in your kitchen to make cooking more pleasurable by adding ease to cooking. I needed a grinder for dried cayenne, habanero and jalapeno peppers. This type of grinder is ineffective for this purpose. You need a quality blade grinder like mr coffee. Tifl Chef is a beautiful piece and I'm sure it is great for its intended purpose, just not mine.

We have had numerous grinders over the years and have paid a lot more for them than for this one. This one works just as well, is easier to fill, and the grind is easy to adjust. How long it will last is anyone's guess, but we're accustomed to replacing previous ones after a few years. If this one lasts that long, we will be happy with it.

Does not work as well as I hoped it will. The peppercorn takes a long time to grind and it needs to be almost half full at minimum for it to work. It does not work anymore if you only have less than a half-full.

Broken, no warranty information and seller contact fails. I purchased this Dec 2015, Feb 2017 the cross beam on the bottom of the grinder breaks right where it screws into the base. For $5 maybe it's alright to consider it as a disposable. But then you have to waste time finding another grinder. Save yourself some time and just find a different grinder now.

It was obviously a 'return' since the top of the grinder box was torn off and the stopper comes apart easily but seems to work ok. It's about 8.5" tall and looks nice. I will probably order another, if possible, for a set.

I cannot say enough about my grinder. It is so pretty and handles well. The item is shipped quickly and packaged wonderfully. Ive gotten so many compliments on the grinder that Im thinking of ordering several more as gifts. Its a gift that literally keeps on giving. Had to return it. Came with no instructions. Five people tried to figure out how to work it and none of us could. Yes...I use these in my kitchen and have for years. This one is very strange? Tried to contact seller to help. Response came weeks later, long after it was returned.
