This REALLY WORKS!
For the past several years, getting a Band-Aid to stay on longer than an hour has been a real struggle. Using this product just before putting a Band-Aid on actually makes it finally stick.!It’s sad that we need an additional product for Band-Aids just to make it usefultoday, but at least I have found one.

Absolutely worked for me
I have a colostomy and sensitive skin around the stoma. I have struggled with skin problems for years. I tried many barrier wipes, barrier sheets and even the very expensive Marathon cyanoacrylate product (expensive and hard to use). None of these worked for me.I cannot say if this product will work for you, everyone is different. I can tell you that it absolutely worked for me. My skin has healed and looks as good as it did immediately after my surgery. It has the added benefit of securing the flange in place with zero leaks and zero problems.

Blister Prevention - Hiking/Backpacking/Wildland Firefighters
Bought this for a Wildland Firefighter's fire line first aid kit. It was highly recommended by Backpacker Magazine. It came in handy as blister prevention for all the hiking they've got to do in their fire boots.Tincture of benzoin, a balsamic tree resin, has antiseptic, aromatic, and adhesive properties. It can be found in many forms-impregnated in cotton swabs, in small vials as a liquid, and as a spray-at drugstores and medical supply houses. Keep a little benzoin in your first-aid kit and use it to:(1) Augment the stickiness of any blister treatment. Just apply it to your foot, let it dry until tacky (a few minutes), then affix your dressing of choice.(2) Protect your skin from friction. When applied to unblistered skin, tincture of benzoin dries to a hardened shield, like a second layer of toughened-up skin.(3) Seal an existing blister as a last resort.

Awesome stuff! Works wonders around ileostomy's!
I used this on my broken skin around my ileostomy. The skin was cleaned really well by the alcohol that's added with the tincture of benzoin. It of course stung like the dickens, and bled a little bit but after it had dried on the broken skin it looked like a new layer of skin had formed over it. I love this stuff! Nothing else worked, believe me this stuff will work wonders for you to if you have an ostomy. It's great for your skin. I would give this 10 stars if I could. LOL. My skin is no longer hurting! The wafers stick really well to which is awesome.

Helps Band-Aids Stay On
I had never heard of this stuff nor really had a need until I needed to put a Band-Aid on my hand with one of the adhesive portions on my palm.As you may be aware, your palms produce oils which eventually would make the bandage fall off. I tried tape then wrap and both failed (and were difficult to put on).I came across a random blog post and learned about this stuff so figured I would give it a try. It works! And by works I mean the bandage will stay on all day even through hand washing. Nice. What I did was:1. Clean where the bandage will go with rubbing alcohol2. Dry or let dry3. Swab some Tincture Of Benzoin where your bandage adhesive strips will go4. Let dry for about a min; until it is sticky (blowing on it speeds it up)5. Adhere bandageI really did not have high hopes but my expectations were exceeded. I was unable to find this locally so Amazon seemed like the right move.Even using this for a month I barely put a dent in the bottle so wish there was a smaller (cheaper) size. It does have an expiration date but hopefully will be still be good after that.Bottom line, if you have a bandage which won't stick, get this stuff.

Works
this is used to securely adhere a Vego insulin monitor to arm. We live in a hot climate, and without the extra bonding of this product, the monitor will not stay on my arm for the two weeks of the monitors life span. Recommended by a nurse who uses it in the hospital for the same purpose. I highly recommend this product.

Doesn't seem to work on blisters.
This is PLAIN tincture of benzoin. I'm trying to use it for blisters but no real affect currently. I think I needed the compound version. This is somewhat sticky, and does wash off easily. We use it to dry up skin eruptions and blisters, and it doesn't really seem to work one way or the other, to be honest. I just swab it on, like I did previously years ago with ampules. They might be the other tincture though. There are two types: Compound ToB and Plain ToB. You could Wiki it.
