Razer Diamondback Gaming Mouse (RZ01-01420100-R3U1)

I absolutely love this mouse. I have been waiting for a sale before I purchased. The lighting on this matches perfectly with the new Razer Chroma Ornata keyboard, which I also recommend strongly. The brilliant lighting can be controlled through the free download Chroma configurator program. If you already have a Chroma keyboard, this will recognize and add the mouse section to your existing configurator program. This lets you TOTALLY customize the lights on this mouse. The lights are broken down into approximately 25 small sections all around the perimeter, each totally customizable, as well as the scroll wheel and the logo. There are also the standard presets for lighting such as static color, breathing, fire, wave, and reactive. You can also sync the settings between keyboard and mouse. Physically it is a very comfortable mouse. It has a studded scroll wheel for a nice grip. Also there are 2 small extra thumb buttons on each side of the mouse. These are very small and thin, but have a distinctive "click" when pressed. Overall I would recommend this not just because of the uber cool lighting effects, but because it seems to be a quality product, with premium packaging and presentation, Also accompanied by software which looks great and works great. It is an encompassing experience Razer has provided. I will be purchasing a headset next, so another review to come.

Great gaming mouse. Buttons are very responsive and precise, and give good feedback. Side buttons are very slim, but are just as responsive. Scroll wheel it pretty stiff, but for gaming applications I think that is a good thing for reasons of precision. I have been using this mouse on a wood surface with no mousepad, and I've had to turn the DPI down because it can track tiny scratches in the wood. It's an incredibly precise mouse, and I would recommend a mousepad for smooth tracking. Not really something that you can use with a laptop on the go. Ergonomics are pretty flat for a gaming mouse. Depending on your grip, this may or may not suit your play style. Weight is what you would expect from an FPS mouse. It's pretty light compared to, for example, a wireless mouse that uses batteries. Construction is solid. Braided cable takes a beating, and the USB head has a tight, solid fit. Just plastic for the body, but the texture they used on it is a perfect combination of smooth and grippy. Overall excellent mouse.

Amazing product. Yes I said it. I was extremely cautious the time I ordered it cuz many people have negative reviews saying it no longer has the original design( by this I mean it removed the non-slip rubber stripes on both sides which used to give amazing control in claw grip) However, when it finally arrives I find it still fits my hand perfectly, yes removing the stripes is a terrible idea but it maintain almost every good aspect of the original diamondback. It also has better clicks than the old one. (My old diamondback3G was exceptionally loud with heavy clicks. ) One down side of the design is the new non-slip rubber layer on the very low part of the body is plainly useless since no one will use this mouse in a palm grip( if you do, you will hate this mouse instantly because the mouse is designed for maximum mobility for RTS gaming not accuracy for FPS, Palm grip is just terrible for a slim mouse like this) Overall, five points because it beats all other current RTS mouses(way better than taipan, would be a close match with sensei but the weight and maneuverability is still better ) Hope they make another 4G version for copperhead as well.

It's the return of Razer's most iconic mouse: the Diamondback / Copperhead. Essential Details: it is small, very light, glides very smoothly, good for both claw and palm grips. The good: very precise and very smooth, cost has gone down significantly from initial release, the chroma lighting is very crisp and the software makes it easy to play around with. The lighting is really a step above most other mice I have used (Razer, SteelSeries, Logitech, etc) Very bright but without being too much in a dark room (can be adjusted via software too) and the options in the software are enough to keep most tinkerers happy. DPI count is more than anybody will need even with a massive mouse pad and a 4K monitor. I have the definition of medium size hands, and this guy fits my hand very well. I am a claw grip user and this is quite comfortable for me, except for the thumb placement that goes on an edge of the mouse (soft edge, but still over time brings discomfort). This is a large positive in my eye as I cannot use most SteelSeries or Logitech mices because of their shape and how it cramps my hand up. I was very distraught when my Copperhead died, and the only mouse I was able to use without hand pains, was the Razer Taipan, which I have had for years. I bought this on some nostalgia, and am very happy that I did. The bad: No on-board memory, thus button and chroma settings are profile based. This means that when the PC boots, the mouse is in a factory defaulted state, which means either no lighting at all or the default (which is a bit too eclectic). The worse is that you cannot just pick this guy up and relocate it to another PC with your settings on it. You will have to download the program and sync your profile. Not terrible, but a step back from the Copperhead and most other Razer mice. The ergonomics of the original mouse were not amazing as far as thumb placement, and neither are they here. There is a rubber side so not to slide, but it hardly is relevant because the mouse side is angled inside, so you really are resting your thumb on the edge this slant creates. This is not bad for grip but after hours your thumb will start to have a small crease due to it. I assume that if you use this for an 8h work day or even 4h gaming session, it would become a bit uncomfortable.

This mouse feels nothing like the original due to the lack of the side bumpers (AKA the part you grab onto when you're using the mouse). This leaves the mouse much smaller and harder to grab. Yeah, the new lights are cool, and probably help with sales because of the "Ooooooo" factor. But if you're a Razer Diamondback lover (I had the 2004 and 2007 models... loved them both, hate everything else), you will not like this mouse. It's a step in the wrong direction in literally every sense. The grip is bad, the finish feels rough and not smooth like the last versions, and the acceleration is unbearable. And, WHY LASER!?!?! Accelerated mice suck and they are very sensitive to tipping and tilting the mouse. I have gone freaking nuts trying to tune the polling rate, acceleration, and DPI numbers in their razer synapse software to make it like the old version, because it's never quite right. If you tilt this thing just the tiniest bit, the laser stops tracking and the mouse stops moving... or just jumps around the screen randomly. Normally, If I were you, I'd be thinking "why would you tilt or tip your mouse??" Well... the answer is... I wouldn't. That is, unless the mouse was too small and had nothing to grab onto while you use it. Then it might just happen by accident. And when it does, the mouse stops picking up motion. And given the triangular mounting position of the pads on the bottom, it's very easy to tilt or tip the mouse simply by putting pressure on one side. PS: I have been gaming for 10+ years on a PC. I have owned 10+ gaming mice. I have tried this mouse on a solid wood desk, soft gaming mousepad, and steel pad gaming surface. I even tried it with the razer firefly, because yeah... it looks freaking awesome... but that "gaming pad" was not even close to flat and had lumps in it which made a terrible scratching sound when sliding this mouse over it, and it made the issues with this TERRIBLE laser sensor even worse. Clearly Razer has lost touch with making good quality accessories that you are going to want to use for years to come and they've sold out for gimmicky blingy crap that makes you buy it because it looks cool. But a month later you wish you had saved the money. And these toys aren't cheap either. Sorry folks, but once again, in our crappy greed driven world... A major corporation has sold out. They've clearly gotten too big for their own good and started letting the sales and marketing guys call the shots instead of the engineers and gamers. BOOOOOOOOOO

Always pleased to find left hand or ambidextrous mouse,as they are far too rare. Ten percent of the population are left-handers, but you would never know it from the product offerings. Though I am not a die-hard mouser, I have been using them since they first appeared on the market. This is the nicest, most beautiful mouse I have ever encountered. I love it's colour display and just having it on my desk is a thing to behold. From a functional perspective, I can say only that it works well for me, and I am quite pleased. I do find that the small side control buttons are difficult for me to manage, but it is quite likely that my hand is at fault, rather than the mouse, as it has muscle and nerve damage. I do not miss the functionality, as I also have an XK-24 keypad, which consider to be far superior anyway.

I bought this because I wanted a very lightweight mouse, and I wanted something with high precision and quality. I shopped around a bunch, this was one of the lightest and most precise, Razer seemed like a well known reputable company. The reason I wanted light weight is because I use this mouse as much as 12 hours in a day, and heavy mice give me sore fingers if I have to put in several long days in a row. Unfortunately, I have now run into what appears to be a very common problem with the scroll wheel on all Razer mouse products. When I scroll it sometimes ignores my scroll, and sometimes scrolls 1 or 2 clicks in the opposite direction. This becomes irritating and causes me to scroll harder/faster... and then code jumps too far, wasting time and interrupting my focus. Worse yet, my scroll finger hurts by the end of a long day. Since purchasing I have found forum threads about this and other scroll wheel problems with a wide variety of Razer mice. The software that comes with the mouse and the mousing precision and the form factor were all great, but this stupid scroll problem simply ruins it. Thus it's not really a 1 star, since there is a lot of quality, but it's got a fatal flaw... Conclusion: Don't buy Razer mice. Epilogue: Razer issued an RMA with very little hassle. One email with suggestions of things to try, and when that didn't work, RMA. Given that they were responsive, and I really like everything OTHER THAN the scroll wheel about the mouse, I've restored one more star (to make it 3)

Pros: -Feels great -Wonderful DPI -Razer synapse offers mouse tracking, color configuration, and detailed setting options -Extended warranty with Razer Cons: -Have to have software and account to adjust colors/settings -Poor drivers with Windows To comment on the drivers, I have used this mouse for 2 years on Windows 7 and 10. I have had issues ever since I got it. Most of the time the mouse would randomly disconnect, then reconnect when I moved it (during games, movies, when I stop the mouse for a sec, totally randomly). Every once in awhile it wouldn't respond to clicks. I could move the cursor but mouse clicks would do anything from only read it as a right click to press a random button anywhere on the computer. I tried everything from updating drivers/software, rolling back drivers, windows settings, synapse settings, etc. Nothing would work. The mouse finally fried today when I went to reconnect it after the worse case of issues I have ever had. I am currently working to try and get it replaced.

Great mouse. Sensitive buttons improvea responce time. The chroma lighting is beautifull. The software allows customization beyond the average persons needs.

Compré el Razer Diamondback por que tenia un gran descuento de más del 50%, definitivamente una de las mejores compras que he hecho. Este no es el primer producto de Razer que compro, pero es obvio que la calidad permanece a través de todos sus productos. Es un mouse de buen tamaño, peso ligero, gran opción para zurdos o ambidiestros, y muy buena precisión, además de que puedes personalizar los colores y programar 8 de los 9 botones que tiene usando el software de Razer Synapse.

El Razer Diamondback no es un mouse para principiantes como yo. Es muy bonito, vistoso, y con un amplio set de configuraciones para los colores. Es ligero al uso, así que sentí mucho el cambio de desplazamiento. Quiero mencionar que la compra de EEUU a México fue demasiado rápida!!!! Lo esperaba en 7 días y llegó en 4, y vivo en el estado de Quintana Roo en México. El envío una maravilla (excepto por la aduana, pero ese es otro tema). Es mi primera compra en Amazon, junto con otro producto. Fue más de lo que esperaba
