Good vacuum for light commerical and residlental work. :D
I got this for area rugs in my house, the height adjustment makes it work well with ALL of the rugs, not just a few here and there, and the cleaning performance is AWESOME. Love this vacuum. Its a solid, well built tank of a vacuum. Mine came with some plastic polish still on it, but it wiped off easy peasy. Looks good. And has a little carry handle on the back, and a metal handle to move it around. The Cord is longer and pretty solid, but does not include a pigtail to replace it easily. Thatโs OK with me, I donโt need that particular option. I had a bag-less version of this for 7+ years a long time ago, I needed a filter and we didnโt have fancy amazon or other places to get filters for it at the time, so I tossed it. But it still worked great. Some tips for this one Its not an โall metal constructionโ so if you want a more solid build get the Traditional Series, a direct air machine, look for the ST style bags versions, and that will be your best bet. If you need a solid lightweight machine, this is a good one. I use the CleanFairy HEPA Style 7 type bags, they are $1 a piece and the best bang for your buck, order a pack and it will keep your vacuum clean inside, and maintain suction though out the life of the bag. Its probably the best value for bags for this machine. Skip the paper bags and just use that. Youโll spend less time and maintenance on the filters of this machine. Pop a new bag in when its just below the fill tube :D Basically any Style 7 bags / belts and filters pretty much fit this. To adjust the height of the head, set the carpet position all they way to the highest setting. Release the parking handle and then lower the settings a notch at a time until the motor changes, and the brush roll makes contact with the carpet. Then push it around, should be easy to push, if its difficult then raise it up one notch. Youโll feel a noticeable difference between each setting. Thatโs the correct way to adjust the height. It will save you wear and tear on your belts, and it will actually help the machine preform well, you need some airflow at the head to maximize cleaning performance. Bets DO need to be changed when they are loose, about every 6 months or so. Clean your brush roll every so often. When I get machines back and the roller bearings have failed its because hair and string got in between the bearings on the end and killed them on a brush roll thatโs absolutely chuck a block full of hair and crap. You can get a brush roll cleaning knife, or a sewing seam ripper and just cut all that off in about 5 minutes with out even removing it from the machine. Saves you a brush roll or two though out the life of the vacuum. Replacement brush rolls for this machine are about 16 bucks a pop. Also I had a box break open and a part fly out during shipping, I e-mailed Bissell / Sanitaire over the weekend. They got back to me Monday and shipped it out to be delivered Tuesday! They have awesome customer service and generally stock parts and items for all their vacuums so if you ever have a problem, they can get it all sorted quickly. Can't say that about every other manufacturer out there! Good stuff!

Excellent vacuum however a few thing to know to get the most
Excellent vacuum no problems with set up. One thing I made sure to have before it arrived last year were decent replacement filters and replacement bags. Was able to find a 4 pack of filters for the side filter for $10. And found some decent sized allergy filters in a 30 pack for $26. Using this in combination is how I get the best suction out if this vacuum. No clogs or problems with collecting fine dust and keeps my home feeling cleaner due to the filter helping to filter the extra dust coming out. Noise level is on the loud side especially when changing the filter and bags. No suction problems provided you have decent bags and filters. Best $100+ vacuum I bought

Using these on janitorial service.
We have purchased maybe 10 of these in past years and these vacuums are surprisingly strong to be used in janitorial service. You can use Type Y or Z bags, they fit perfectly. Vacuum has simple construction without extra bells or whistles. Comparing to Hoover or similar, these vacuums are not loud. Handle is made of metal and if I need to change the cord, it is behind two screws and simple work on. Original cord is longer than average and grounded, good quality but sometimes too short for larger buildings. Only complaints I have are poor suction, that is not strong enough to pick up sand and ice-melt from thick area rugs and also the rubber part on handle is getting loose and needs to be glued in on taped around. Price is right for this model but I would also like to be able to buy brush rollers and belts on Amazon.

Piece of crap!
Worst vacuum cleaner I ever bought. Cheaply made and is a hassle to use. The tool hose won't stay on and falls off while vacuuming. Don't even give it a thought of purchasing it. It isn't worth it.

This machine is a beast
Iโve ordered this vacuum last Sunday and arrived on Tuesday, while I did felt a bit of resistance while screwing in the handle and the hose tube into the vacuum but it was fairly easy, the cord was super long where I donโt have to unplug it and plug it in another room in my one bedroom apartment, the suction is awesome, does a good job cleaning, I can recline the machine flat on the ground while I run it under my bed, attachments are easy to use. Overall, itโs an awesome vacuum and I would definitely recommend it if anyone is looking for a good quality bagged vacuum cleaner that cost under $150. Itโs worth the money and you will not regret it!

Best HEPA bang for the bucks
Ok this is not a sanitiaire, Its a bissell with some upgrades like a metal handle, thick cord, and a color that is acceptalbe rather than some bright green. The vacuum arrived with a gross waxy film all over it. it was quite a bit of work to get this stuff off the vac. I finally found glass cleaner work but still needed to completely wipe down the unit, which was not what I wanted to start doing was to clean the cleaner. If you compair this vacuum to other Sanitaire models you may be disapointed, however, if you compair it to other bagged Bissell models you will appreicate the better color, build quality and so on. It also smells like hot or burning plastic when it runs, which I think may get it returned. While it is not dquiet, at lease it does not have the high pitched nmotor noise that the other bissells baged models have. I found it hard to find parts until I started looking at Bissell style 7 replacement belts, bags and filters all work as it is nearly identical to the Bissell big green model. It is easy to assemble with only needing to install the handle. It is light and easy to maneuver, easy to pick up, and for the price does clean rather well. when using the CLEAN FERRY HEPA bags and adding a Hepa exhaust filter (again all bissell style 7 parts) This vaccum is blowing very clean exhaust.. So at least it does keep inside itself what it does pick up.. If you use to using Bissell powerforce vacuums rather bagged or not and liked it you will also like this vacuum and will appreciate the better build quality and feel of this vacuum. If you use high end vacuums like I have a RIccar R25P, Cirrus Cr-9100 comercial and a Prolux 9000, you may be disapointed. If you use this at a business and want to leave it around for workers to use it could work well for you as its not a high end vac that may get relocated (stolen). Bottom line is for the price this vacuum is a great deal and ifyou value a vacuum with HEPA capabilities with upgrades this vacuum is a alegers person dream. FOr how it works and the price point its unbeatable. How it lasts is something you will have to find out for yourself, however my Bissel powerforce lasted over 12 years and was still working like new when donated.. The difference between old and new powerforce is the ability for it to be upbraded with HEPA baggs, filter.

So-So
Love the long cord. I have a long hallway with no outlets and I can vacuum the whole length at one time. The only downfall so far was that they taped the accessory packet on to the handle, leaving a very sticky, difficult to remove residue. Revised this review to add: Although I did like the long cord, it's not a very good vacuum. Poor suction, even when you change the height setting. I have a cordless stick vac that works better. Unfortunately it was also missing the crevice tool!

lightweight, inexpensive vacuum for commercial jobs
I use these vacuums in commercial cleaning jobs. I own 4 of them. I liked how affordable it was and how much it has endured the abuse at the job. It is light weight and easy to use. I would recommend you try these vacuums. They are also easy to fix; love all the philip head screws.

Terrible machine
We have a handful of these and they're honestly terrible. Only reason we purchased is because they were a cheaper alternative at the time. Suction, power, and reliability is very poor. You have to go over the same spot multiple times to clean the carpet. This is not ideal for commercial use, not recommended or professional at all. Bags don't last, they fill up quick as they're small.
