Turnigy 4000mAh Spektrum DX8 Intelligent Transmitter Pack.

Very nice battery with twice the life of the original. Also works in DX6,7,9 series even though it's listed for DX8. Adding a balance cord is NOT needed as that circuitry is built in since this is a TX ONLY battery.It ships at only 30% so charging it the first time will take 12-18 hours since it is a slow charge rate in the transmitter. I got this because my original battery was only getting to 8.0V and not lasting as long as it used to.

It fits and powers up a spectrum 8Xe transmitter, however every charger I tried will not charge this thing. Worthless to me. I ended up ordering the Spektrum battery and it came with a charger that will charge it and there is no need to remove the battery to do it.

I agree with Brownlensman, there is no balancing plug so wondering how to charge this 'correctly'. I have installed in my DX8 and it fits, but it's tight. Had to remove the rubber pad on the back of the battery door, but no big deal. Never seen my Tx with a charge above 5.8V, not it's 7.7+ and great. I may install my own charge plug like Brownlensman did, but unsure if I'll do this. I have some around and can solder well, so it's likely I will try this. Am currently charging thru the Tx charger and it's working fine, but clearly dies not balance the cells. This battery is 'made' for the DX8 per the description, so I have to think Turnigy did some testing just using the charging plug in the Tx, but no indication this was done.

I have a Spektrum DX6 and this battery works awesome with it! I bought it on 3-31-16. Its now 4-24-16 and its still fully charged out of the box. I go out 4-5 times a week for 2-3 hours to fly and the battery level hasn't moved. I'm super happy about the battery life. Highly recommend it for your radio. I won't be going back the using the AA batteries with this radio, after three 10min flights I have to change the AA batteries.

Good quality battery that is a fraction of the cost of the Spektrum unit. This is a great upgrade if you want to use the transmitter's battery to power your UHF system from the transmitter.

If this battery had a balance charging connector on it I would have rated it as 5 stars. It is being used with a Spektrum DX6 transmitter and it works perfectly. In order to charge it though, I had to purchase my own connector, unwrap the battery and solder it to the battery. Having done that I can connect it to my 4 button charger and get a full charge.After 10 flights, the battery is still at 8.0 volts (down from 8.4 volts at full charge). I'd say this would be a great replacement for the alkaline battery tray in the DX6.

Good upgrade if your dogs eat your original batt sled. Downside is it needs a balance plug for my charger to charge it.
