An Battery Upgrade for my Solar Walk Lights
Solar outside lights often have replaceable batteries these days. And that's a good thing. I upgraded my 300mAh batteries for these 600mAh batteries, so theoretically they should stay on longer at night. These have a hole in the positive terminal for cooling. I looked, so I can say with confidence that my old batteries did not. I was lucky that my batteries were not getting wet, almost no rust on the battery terminals or the On/Off switch. I simply sprayed the switches with contact cleaner and turned each one on and off a few times. Then I spray the contacts in the battery tray before installing the GEILIENERGY NiMH AA 600mAh 1.2V Rechargeable Batteries. All but one of my 14 lights came on as bright as ever. One of my lights had a wanked out solar panel. These solar lights are so cheap that you don't save lot of money. But, with cleaning and battery replacement you can get two or more years use out of these devices. Save the device, save the landfills.

So far so good
These days we appear driven to review a product before having had much time with the product. No worries if we all know that. This order was for a 12-pack of rechargeable batteries that I will use for my solar light LED ropes. They came with a AA-like battery that was as ordered, AA 600mAh 1.2V. Reading the previous reviews was helpful, because there appear to be two similar products: a green battery (Ni-MH) or a yellow battery (Ni-CD). Not sure the color-coding is uniform, but the battery type is important. Repeating the previous review, Ni-MH are the newer more environmental friendly product that is less caustic than the older Ni-CD. All the other aspects of these two batteries do not appear to be statistically significant: cost, lifecycle, form factor, charging time, discharging time. I did read that "memory" as in how discharged it gets before a recharge is better for the newer Ni-MH. I plan to only use on the outside solar lights, so the charge/discharge will be very consistent over the expected one year battery life (if not actually two or three years).Product arrived quickly maybe because it was Amazon Prime, maybe because y'all know this is a good product and it is prepositioned. Delivery for me was in a bubble pouch with USPS in my daily mail. The first three batteries all shipped with an adequate charge to power my LED ropes through the night on a partial 4-hour late afternoon solar charge. They arrived yesterday, so I am one day into my expected year or so of use.Not including any additional pictures or video - the product was as vendor depicted, fit the standard LED ropes, so far so good.
