First off, you need to read the instructions. This is not your typical cram it in the hole and grind it down to a nub sharpener. The face of the panda pulls forward and catches with a metal piece. Then push up the left ear and insert the pencil. Release the ear and the pencil is held in place. Turn the crank without holding the pencil. The face slowly moves back toward the head and the pencil is sharpened. Move the ear to remove the sharp pencil. So easy a 5-year old could do it. It can also be easily disassembled and cleaned if a piece of the lead gets broken off inside. It seems like it could last a long time. I think this would make a great gift for people who still use old fashioned pencils. Not recommended for colored pencils.

This sharpener does a great job! It is easy to use and makes super sharp points on your pencils. It does well with colored pencils, and many sharpeners do not work at all on those. It's exactly what I wanted, and I couldn't be happier.

The sharpener of this panda looks very cute. I bought it for the kids, and my son liked it after receiving it. The pencil sharpener is very sharp, and it is no problem for children to sharpen their own pencils, which is easy to operate. It's also easy to clean up trash. It's really cute on the table, it is recommended to buy.

It is so cute but does not sharpen a pencil. I gave a try even though there are similar complaints but I guess they were right.

Its a little hard to hold it and sharpen a pencil but we have to find a way to fasten it to the table. It also will sharpen colored pencils very good.

Kids love it and argue over it. Easy to use and fun to watch them do so. The pencils come out sharp and even.The ear pulling down and then inserting pencil was new for me, but it’s good for them to learn more ‘unique’ instructions to follow.
