My Uke finally stays in tune!
I bought a cheap ukulele to learn and mess around with. I'm an amateur musician, play guitar and piano. I kept tuning the original strings it came with for about two months, a few times a week, would never stay in tune. Very frustrating. I bought these to replace those original strings and love them. They're thinner, more textured and have a lovely maroon color. After tuning every day or two for a couple weeks my Ukulele seems to finally keep its tune! Very happy with the sound, look, feel and overall quality of these strings. Glad I purchased them. Definitely a necessary upgrade if you still have your factory strings from a cheap source.

Really cuts through
If you’re in an ensemble and they want you to cover solos, these things are golden. They’re not that sweet soft comfy tone of the other strings but they’re nice on the ear, superior fingerstyle performance. Quickest new-strings-in-tune experience of my uke career, definitely getting Reds for my uke bass

My favorite tenor ukulele strings
Aquila Red strings sound good on any uke. They'll make a cheap one sound richer. They have a soft feel, good for a beginner's uncalloused fingertips. I have played for 60 years, and have never found a better-sounding set.

A good option
I have used the Aquila Reds on a couple different instruments now, and I think they can work really well in certain applications. Usually, I am partial to a type of nylon strings with a wound C, but I've had issues with the wound string breaking on instruments with a slotted bridge that requires a knotted string end -- I've used these Aquila Red strings on those instruments and find they can bring a bit of controlled brightness without losing all of the warmth.... I have also had really good results with these strings on a banjolele and a resouke. As an added benefit, these strings seem to settle down and stay in tune very quickly, especially compared to nylon. I've had them get to the point where they'll generally stay in tune in as little as 12 hours, albeit with some constant tuning during the first hour or so after re-stringing and then only moderate play after.

Sound great, look good, but G string broke the first time tuning. Twice.
I love the sound with these strings and the look on my ukulele, but unfortunately the g-string broke after 15 minutes of playing. The strings were professionally installed and once I got my uke home, the tuning had dropped a full step as the strings were settling. I slowly tightened the g-string up and it snapped between 3rd & 2nd fret. I don't blame the installation, it seems that the string had some sort of weak point or defect. I can't do a return because all the packaging went in the trash, so I have ordered a 2nd set to replace the one string and to have a backup for the other 3. I'm kinda bummed about the situation, but these strings are too good and too unique to not give them a second chance. Hoping for better luck!*UPDATE* 2nd G string broke faster than the first. It actually popped while uke was sitting in the case. With so many similar reviews, I'm guessing the string is actually the wrong size for the tone. To test my theory, I put the spare A string in it's place and tuned it to G. My thought is the slightly thinner string doesn't need to be pulled so tight. So far it works great. I'm sure someone more experienced could tell me why this is wrong, but it is a last ditch effort to salvage the now $24 invested.

Bright and clear tone, giving plenty of definition note-to-note
I got these for my Fender Tenor Uke. The Uke kinda sounded weak and lifeless compared to my Kala soprano. The Aquilas, while not giving it the resonance of the Kala, gave it a very clear, bell-like touch to it which is great for fingerstyle, but the thinner strings makes it a hair easier to strum. Overall very satisfied.

Why Can't These Be As Nice As the Strings on My Concert Uke
I have these strings for one of my concert ukuleles and I absolutely love them. So I thought I'd by the same strings for tenor. Well.... big mistake. These strings have the same look and feel as the ones for my concert, but these are soooooo flabby and loose. The A string is seeming to stretch for forever. The G and E strings are kinda good, but the C string is terrible.I hate to keep comparing these to the same Aquila red strings I have on my concert, but I have to make the comparison. On the concert, all the strings and have roughly the same amount of tension on them. With very few minor adjustments they have been holding their tune for months now. The strings really were an upgrade over what had been on that uke. These strings however, are anything but an upgrade. the C string is sooo loose that it falls out of the nut from time to time, but the tuner says it's in tune. It's by far the flabbiest of the strings. The A string seems super tight, but is always out of tune, and needs tightening. the G and E strings are in tune, and mostly pulled tight, but the amount of play in them is double or even triple the strings that just got replaced. So frustrating to know what one set of these strings is so good, and this set it so bad.

Bright, not so loud
I have a set of these on a Hawaiian koa soprano ukulele, and lI ike them there. This set is for my tenor Koaloha ukulele. I replaced an old set of Aquila strings, where the sound was not so bright, and was echoey. These are brighter, but not as loud. I was surprised because Koalohas are generally pretty loud and echoey. I didn't expect the decrease in loudness. The echo part is gone, which is good. So for me it's kind of a mixed bag. The one thing I like most is their playability. The strings are thinner than nylons and the tension doesn't seem as much as with fluorocarbons. Also I like the feel on my fingertips. I'm not sure why the loudness decreased, the soprano didn't seem to have that problem when I switched it over, maybe a couple years ago. It also became brighter in sound.
