A Guinea Pig Pride & Prejudice (Guinea Pig Classics)

Pride & Prejudice Can't Be Cuter
Totally adorbs. Just imagine Pride & Prejudice with guinea pigs. Brilliant. I didn’t realize this book existed until I saw it displayed at the bookstore. I’m a Pride and Prejudice fanatic and I love collecting any related books. So, of course, I bought this little gem right away. Plot-wise, it was a summary that hits the highlights. There were a few snippets that didn’t exactly follow the story but you can forgive the slight, considering the length of the book. Plus, for the people who have never read P&P, the story might make a little more understandable without going into deep details. The book itself is really well constructed. The photos are clear and sharp. The casting choice, I do have to say, was spot on. Readable. This is not meant for young children to read alone. There are words that might go over their heads. If you are a P&P fan or know someone who is, this is a perfect gift. It is a little pricey but it is so cute. I have no regrets.

A Delightful Christmas Gift
My sister stated that this was one of her new favorite Christmas gifts of all time. The time and detail work that went into this little book is extraordinary. Highly recommend!

How well do Guinea Pigs and Jane Austen Mix? Very Well Indeed.
Pride and Prejudice is one of the most beloved novels, so what could possibly make it any better? Only the addition of beautiful, sassy guinea pigs in Regency period costumes, of course. The book is abridged, of course, but is faithful to the original and hits all the high points. The design and costumes for the "stars" of the books are exquisite and capture the essence of Austen's beloved characters. This is a great gift for guinea pig lovers and Austen fans alike.

From a Jane Austen fan...
This is such a cute little book! I'm a huge Jane Austen fan, and I happened to come across this while shopping for something completely unrelated. I looked at a few of the "sample" pages that were shown on Amazon and decided to order it. If you are a fan of this book, you will enjoy the guinea pig version, with each of the characters dressed up in little outfits and small excerpts of Jane Austen's stories interspersed with a general quick outline of the story line. It's a really cute little tabletop book for Jane Austen fans.

Delightful
It is highly condensed and mostly a novelty, but why else would you buy the book? I am more a fan of guineapigs than Jane Austen and for me the entire book is well worth the price. The production values of the little costumes, the tiny guneapig-sized stages, the over-the-top prose contrasted with the inherent silliness of guineapigs - it's the best that it could be for such a short little volume. If a piggie lover needs a gift, you need look no further.

It’s a guinea pig book universally acknowledged...
If there was a fire in my house (god forbid) and I could only save one book, this book would be it. I’m delighted every time I read it.

CAPITAL CAVY COSTUME DRAMA!
At fourteen years old, Pride and Prejudice was one of the O-level English Literature texts that I was expected to read.It was roundly disliked in the class - but so what. That was 1984 and you did as you were told.We tried to seek mirth in the gay balls at Meryton and to understand the humour as explained by our patient teacher Mrs Cameron. Alas, without any belly-laughs crude enough for comprehensive-educated teens it must have been a thankless task for the dear lady.THEN came the BBC 'Colin Firth version' (I sat on his bed many a time - any newspaper want the exclusive rights to my story?) and suddenly it became a great, witty story indeed.BUT THEN came A Guinea Pig Pride and Predjudice and all became clear, enacted by these wise little rodents. Their impressive acting skills illustrate this (heavily abridged) version. My favourites are 'Elizabeth' snubbing Mr Collins (p 15) and 'Wickham' "A gamester" (p 33).Mainly for my guinea pig-loving fourteen-year old (who has never been forced to read this 18th Century comedy) and, yes, a great deal for his mum and me, I ordered this as a stocking-filler from Santa Amazon. It came with the usual Amazon efficiency - great job, guys.So if you love Pride and Prejudice as a novel or even as a film/TV-series or if you love the antics of guinea pigs, buy this book.

much fun
This is my favourite Jane Austen version of all time, the text is short, but captures the humour and lightness of touch of the original. The whole thing is done with real affection and humour, with some cracking pairings of text and image. The description of Elizabeth Bennet’s brown eyes had me giggling. The pricing seems an absolute giveaway, and this is well worth buying multiple copies of and giving away to all and sundry.Much fun will be had by all.

Jane Austen must be turning in her grave - unless she was a guinea pig lover???
I bought this for my god-daughter because she's guinea-pig mad, and she would probably give it 5 stars because of that. It really is a one joke book though, and delightful as the photos are I really think it's a lot of money to pay for something with such a limited appeal and shelf-life.......
