I bought these to carry our 2 HeyBike Race e-Bikes. We carry one bike on each carrier. You might ask why not use a hitch carrier to carry both? I have a 2021 Hyundai Sonata. My wife has a 2021 Kia K5. The cars will only take a class 1 hitch. By the time you put the 2 e-Bikes (56 lbs each without battery) and a carrier with enough guts to carry them in a class 1 hitch, you have most likely already met or exceeded the max tongue weight before you even drive an inch. Way too much weight to put on the roof. Most roof racks won't hold the weight of the bikes and carriers anyway. I read about people buying these to carry 1 bike, so I thought I would take the plunge. Saris said this would not work on my car. Ummm...it works like a champ on my car. It cinches down solid! I put y single 56 lb bike (70lb max for 2) on the back position of the rack, and strapped it down, including the anti-sway on the downtube. I drove around town...all over, actually. The bike did not move at all! No stress on the trunk or bumper. no bouncing. just a nice solid carry for my bike. Soooo much easier than dropping the back seats, taking off the front tire just so it will barely fit in the trunk? Those days are done. Seems well made. But I wouldn't leave it on my car for the sun to bake on that plastic and webbed strapping all year long. But it seems to be of good enough quality that if you don't abuse it, it should give you good like expectancy.

Most of the “Best Bike Racks” articles online point to hitch racks. But this one is great for SUVs without one. Smaller kids bikes don’t fit perfectly on there but I made it work. Fortunately, my kids are upgrading to bigger bikes soon so it will be a non-issue. The rack itself feels sturdy and the arms come down easily when I’m riding around without the bikes. It can be a little tricky installing the rack by yourself but provide super simple with another set of hands to help. Overall, a good rack that does the job - would definitely recommend.

I need to edit my review. OLD REVIEW: The metallic hooks already started to wear out, and the side strap locks keep getting loose. If you’re transporting your bike on a short trip, then this would be okay. But I’ve used a different bike rack for car from a different brand that lasted a LONG TIME and the only reason why I bought this Saris is so I can fit 3 bikes. I decided to switch back to my old rack because this just doesn’t seem to be as safe as my old one. Also, my previous rack is mainly metallic, so it’s much stronger for heavier bikes. I ride a steel mountain bike which is on the heavier side, and the Saris rack only has a 35 lbs per bike capacity. I also don’t have the time to keep putting it on my car and taking it off when I’m not using it. The Saris seems to wear out way faster than my old rack because I keep it on even when I’m not using it. UPDATED REVIEW: I think I was being a little unfair giving the negative review. After all, Saris did disclose that the weight capacity for each bike is 35 lbs, and it did say in the manual that this item should NOT be mounted when not being used. That being said, don’t be surprised if straps do become loose over time if you leave it on the trunk while not being used. This rack is not meant to be a replacement for a hitch bike rack. I feel like this rack is suitable for occasional cyclists. For regular cyclists like me, I’d rather spend the extra money to get a hitch rack. Did this rack do the job for its intended purpose?? Yes! When I actually use it with my bike on, it’s a great and secure rack. But if you continue to leave it on the car while not being used, this rack won’t last long. Also, I have a steel mountain bike that weighs over 35 lbs without water bottles and bags, so this rack would not be ideal.

I'm completely satisfied with this rack. I have a 2022 Mazda CX-30 and it attached perfectly and securely. I have an XL size mountain bike and it fits no problem, no rattle or sway. The only complaint is the caps holding the straps in the center tube could be designed better. They broke after the first use and didn't stay tight prior to breaking. Still happy with my purchase and would recommend to any friends.

We have a subaru outback that is fairly new and doesn’t yet have a towing hitch installed so we settled for this. The rack itself fit well and was easy to strap on the back of the car. The rack itself seems very secure if installed correctly, HOWEVER the straps that are holding the bikes to the rack are absolute cheap garbage. While driving on the highway, my wife’s bike came loose from the rack. Luckily I pulled over quick enough that it didn’t fly off into traffic and cause an accident, however it did fly off into the shoulder of the highway behind us as I pulled over and was completely destroyed. The rack itself was still attached securely onto the back of the car, but the straps holding the bike in place had completely ripped off of the rack. We had two bikes on the rack, mine and my wife’s and hers was placed on second as it was the lightest, per the manufacturer instructions. The bikes were secure on our way to the destination, about 6 hours from our home and during a few trips we took while on vacation and there was no difference in how the bikes were placed on the rack for the trip home. We are now having to pay hundreds of dollars to replace a bike, which is great. This might be an okay rack for one bike, but apparently two bikes on a bike rack that’s being sold as capable of carrying two bikes is too much to ask for.

This is a fantastic bike rack first off, secondly, an unanticipated perk is that it saved my hatch when I was rear ended. The bones took quite a hit and there is no visible damage to the bike rack itself. My bumper and lower hatch was severely dented. I’ll say this much I was able to drive home and the other guy had to be towed. Thank you saris for saving my car!

The installation manual is not helpful. It refers just to saris.com to find specific positioning for your car model. But where is it within the website?? They should have typical positioning diagrams and a table for popular car models. On a 2018 mazda cx-5 the lower latches can't be slid in within opening the door because of their shape. But to open the door the top latches necessary to hold it in place get in the way. You end up doing acrobatics juggling the two. And once you're finished, there is simply no security feature so that the harness can't be stolen while you are biking with your car in the parking lot. Note also that the latch attachement points are metal, subject to scratch and chip your car paint and rear lights. They ought to have a rubber cover instead. The rubber would add much needed friction so that the latches stay better in place. Ok so you've fought hard and put it in place, now comes putting the 3 bikes on. Or wait, just two because there isn't the space between each attachement so that you can really fit 3 bikes. The arm is just too short. Pedals, seats, steering wheels, it all gets tangled up. No to fit 3 odd sized bikes or what you would typically want to use it for: a large bike for dad, a lady bike for mom and a kid's bike last. Yes I did pay extra for the odd size bikes bars. And you also need to buy two sets of front wheels blockers extra. So much trouble. A very sub standard solution. Roof mounted rack was much better in comparison.

I bought the 3-bike version because of its higher weight tolerance but I wouldn't load more than two unless one is a child's bike. I'm not saying that it can't do it but I just didn't get that good feeling- lots of bouncy bounce on that outer-most rung in the driveway. My first rack had some hairline cracks in both arms at the same point in their arch so I sent it back as the box it came in was damaged as well. My second one looked good and operated very well. After two 100 mile trips, one in the rain and one in the dry, I experienced no problems but I will say that I highly recommend that after loading the bikes, pull-over a mile or two down the road and tighten things up one more time. No fault of the device but things loosen up from the shifting of the bikes and the swaying of the vehicle. For me, the side and bottom straps had slop in them even though I tightened them well in the driveway. After that, everything remained tight. One other thing, there are anti-sway straps under the arms that can be forgotten but those are pretty much hit and miss in terms of lining up or conforming to the style bike you have. They didn't work for me, not even close, but I didn't really need them. Buy plenty of bungee cords instead- you'll need them. I'll update in a year. Update 5/24/2024: After a year of use, about 40 trips, no problems whatsoever. Great product. Btw- I use to go through the hassle of removing and stowing it inside the vehicle on quick trips to the trail and then came to my senses and attached a cable lock to it instead.

Compré el soporte de 3 bicicletas para usarla con 2 grandes y evitar que se rayen entre sí, entran sin problema dos bicicletas grandes y una pequeña. La calidad de los materiales es buena y el armado es fácil, espero que sea resistente, sobre todo en las correas que son las que soportan todo el peso. Los broches que amarran a las bicicletas son grandes, eso permite que bicis con tubos grandes en los marcos entren sin problema y queden bien aseguradas(a diferencia de otros racks). Para las bicis que uso, (Trek Marlin) No fue necesario comprar tubos adicionales para poderla montar al rack. Mi única queja es que las correas no quedan puestas correctamente sobre el rack, quedan mal puestas y no hay manera de ponerlas correctamente ya que el peso las vence. Completamente recomendado.

No especifica bien para qué coche europeo es compatible y la devolución es un suplicio. Te dan una etiqueta que consiste en que tú mandas el soporte de vuelta a USA pagando los gastos de envío (más de 100€). En mi opinión un timo en toda regla.

Excellent produit, facile à installer et à enlever, solide ,supporte mes deux vélos de façon sécuritaires, j'ai un toyota rav4 et 2014 fit très bien ,je le recommande .
