Works real good!
I bought this as a less expensive alternative to a giant, mega expensive lens. I'm a novice photographer and only very recently graduated from a point and shoot, so spending a lot on different lenses isn't something I want to do right now. While my camera's basic lens is great for wide angle shots, it struggles with macro shots. So this seemed like a good idea. And it is! The only down side to this, and maybe it's true of more expensive lenses but I don't know enough to know that, is I've found I basically have to be on top of my "subject" to get a good shot. I was in Florida trying to take a close-up of a lizard and I didn't realize I was like 2 inches from this poor thing. It was a good sport and let me try some poorly framed shots, but when it realized I had no idea what I was doing and may very well smother it with the macro lens while trying to get a good shot, self-preservation kicked in and it escaped with its life. All in all, though, this is a decent, affordable alternative to expensive equipment and it does what it's supposed to do, just like that lizard.

Awesome!
Nice product for what is. This just enhances your kit lens enough to allow you to take that macro shot. I’m not a professional, so this fit the bill without spending a lot of $$$ on a dedicated macro lens. I love that it’s very slim. I just keep it on my 14-42mm ez lens and I don’t notice any added bulk or weight. I added a couple of side by side comparison shot without and with the lens on. Also a pic of my camera with converter on. Taking photos is more fun and flexible with this on. Highly recommend!

This Macro Converter is a compromise, but one I can live with.
This Macro Converter is a compromise. I'm an amateur photographer who wanted to do some Macro shots on the cheap and this lets me get pretty close; keeping my camera bag light, and my wallet heavy. On my 14-42 Kit lens it doesn't make a lot of difference. At 14mm you can focus about a half inch to an inch closer to your subject. It makes a larger difference on my 25mm and 45mm. I can be 2-4 inches closer which can result in some nicer photos of smaller things. It's not a true Marco lens and it won't really replace one if you plan on doing a lot of Marco shots, But if all you want to do is get a step closer to some Macro shots without buying a whole new lens, this fits the bill.

Not a true macro, but works great for close-ups
I am a hobbyist photographer. I don't do much Macro work, but I take a lot of close-ups of mini toys/figurines. This converter works great for me. Both the images are taken with Panasonic 20mm f1.7 pancake lens, at the minimum focusing distance. The figurine measure approx. 2.5X2.5 inches The first one is without the converter and the second one is with the converter. I used manual focusing and same settings for both the pictures (Aperture Priority, f4, Auto ISO). The image quality is not compromised with this converter.

Perfect macro diopter for 46mm and 37mm filter threaded lenses
One of my favorite accessories to slip into my pocket when I don't want to lug around my M.Zuiko 60mm f/2.8 Macro. It has a threaded mount for 46mm filter size lenses and with the included step-down ring it can be screwed on 37mm filter size lenses. I normally use it on my M.Zuiko 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ, the M.Zuiko 17mm f/1.8, or the Lumix 20mm f/1.7 Mark II. It has the same multi-coated glass that most of M.Zuiko lenses use.

Love Olympus but not this product
I didn't find this macro converter useful, so I returned it immediately.

Not impressed.
I bought this to give macro capability to my Olympus 45mm f1.8 prime. I was slightly worried that I couldn't find any technical details on the Olympus web site, but went ahead anyway. It's disappointing, and will be going back. The quality is not as high as I had expected, and I can't focus much closer with the converter. I already own the 12-40mm f2.8 non-macro, and it does a much better job.

This converter is perfect for people who don't want to invest in a dedicated macro lens but like being able to get closer. I have found it allows my 45mm to focus much closer than otherwise, and the sharpness remains excellent. Attached are some examples. I may eventually get an Olympus 60mm 2.8 Macro, but the converter lets me get a taste of macro without spending the money or investing the time in serious macro work.

A must have converter filter!
I’m not big into Macro Photography, but this converter will always have a place in my camera bag. Well worth the price!
