Great workout for a small price
When I used to work out at the gym, the only machine I used was the Arc Trainer. I figured if I could find one for home, I could drop my gym membership. "Arc Trainers" are very expensive and I could not afford one. This came up during my search for a very decent price, so I started to research it. I was very reluctant to purchase as it looks really flimsy in the pictures. However, it is not. It is very sturdy. I weigh 225 pounds and it supports my weight with no problem. I watched some videos on YouTube before I purchased and liked the different routines that could be done - stretching, cardio, thighs, etc. I am very out of shape and need to start working out to bring down my blood pressure. I received the product on the date promised. I had also purchased the assembly through Amazon. There was a mix up with the assembly and they did not show up on the date promised. However, when I contacted the company and Amazon, they were both very apologetic and worked to fix the problem very quickly. I can understand that mistakes are made, I judge the company on the way they handle the error. I have no complaints about the assembly. Once the error was identified, the company rescheduled immediately, apologized and got it taken care of. The individual that came to my home to assemble the unit was very young, but polite and fast. Using the Gazelle - I am not a work out fanatic. However, I work from home and sit in front of a computer for hours. I get very sore, especially in the back and shoulders. I have not watched the videos that came with the Gazelle (yet), but I remembered the videos from YouTube and have get on the machine every couple of hours for a few minutes and use it to stretch, plus do a short workout at the end of the day. Since it has very low impact on your joints, I am not very sore - a little sore because I have not worked out in so long, but that is to be expected. I feel like I get a very good stretch and it is easy to get worked up to a good cardio rate without causing your body pain. The readout panel that shows number of calories burned or heart rate does is not working correctly. However, I don't know if that is a manufacturer issue or the young man that hooked up everything so I am still giving 5 stars as I think it may have been the way it was connected. Overall, very happy with the product and think it will help me reach my goal to drop my blood pressure, weight and keep my back from being in constant pain from sitting.

This Grandma is very pleased with the Gazelle Supreme
I've had the Gazelle Supreme for a little over a month. I am a 50-something grandmother. Because I work from home, I wanted a piece of equipment that would allow me to take frequent breaks throughout the day to get in a quick cardio workout. I use this machine 2-3 times per day for 10-15 minutes per session for 4-5 days per week. It is getting me up and moving whether or not I have the time to get to the gym. This is what I love about it. I also have to admit that it's really fun. You get the sensation of running very fast even though you're not -- and when you haven't been able to actually run in many years, it's a really great feeling. The Gazelle takes up little floor space, and it can be moved by tipping it forward and pushing it. It is surprisingly heavy, but that's a good thing -- it means the equipment is sturdy and substantial. You will want an extra set of hands to lift this out of the box and assemble it -- and preferably someone handy with tools and good at reading instructions. I have used both a treadmill and an elliptical for many years. With advancing age, I have begun to lose muscle mass and have had increased joint pain which has caused me to search for ways to get in some cardio exercise that is more gentle to my body. My first pick would be a treadmill, but the expense of a good quality treadmill was out of my budget. The Gazelle was in my price range, and it reminded me somewhat of an elliptical machine because of the gliding motion. However, it's nothing like an elliptical -- an elliptical is still on my wish list -- but the Gazelle is fun, provides me with a quick and gentle cardio boost and I have not grown bored with it whatsoever. As a matter of fact, I look forward to each session. I bought the version with the pistons for added resistance. The pistons do what they are intended to do -- they do provide extra resistance, and you can definitely feel it. You can easily detach the pistons when you do not want to use them. I recommend detaching the pistons for the first week -- or until you are ready -- because the resistance provided by the pistons was a little hard on the knees and hips during my first week of using it. This would not be a problem for the average person who is in good physical condition, but it is something that people with joint pain in the knees and hips should know. I now use the pistons every other day for about 5 minutes to help tone my legs. I won't necessarily say the Gazelle provides a "whole body" workout because my lower back and upper abs/chest still need supplemental exercise apart from the Gazelle. But, it is helping my thighs, calves, buttocks, lower abs and biceps -- I can see and feel a difference. Most importantly, it is giving me a good, easy cardio workout that is totally do-able. I do get enough of a workout to actually sweat after 5 minutes, and I am very pleased with the purchase.

Can be an incredible low impact machine with some flaws
I have had the standard edition for years. I actually found it at someone's curb for trash pickup, took it home and it worked fine. I have no idea how long they used it for, but I recently started using it again every other day and then daily for 6 months and lost 40 lbs. Having chronic pain, I first kind of glided on it. It is perfect for anyone that just needs to get moving or loosening up the joints and muscles easily. Eventually, I started getting comfortable and running on it. If you are looking for a high cardio full out run, you can certainly do that too (see fitbit stat). But running hands free takes time and requires a lot of balance and focus. I can easily see someone getting hurt if not careful. The only issue I have is that after a few songs, I am 6ft away from where I started, and I have to hope off and push it back. (Also, be careful doing this, big shin bruises) I use it on a painted concrete floor and the paint layers have completely worn off. I just kind of delt with it until

I use it for gliding. I used to cross country ski when I lived somewhere with snow and it is a terrific kind of exercise for overall fitness. The glider is the same type of exercise, for all four quadrants of your body, both arms and both legs. I really like the resistance and I really like how sturdy and secure it feels using it. I have one artificial knee and this machine is extremely easy on the knee joints. Overall, I am a VERY happy customer!!

Perfect size for a small space. I get a good work out (work up a sweat) and I haven't used the pistons yet! I am accustomed to using an elliptical and feel like I am getting a very similar work out. It came with 3 DVDs which showed different techniques to use. Sturdy & easy to put together (needed another person to help me with some parts). A little WD-40 takes away any squeaks. It is very quiet and great to use while watching TV.

The instructions are not clear, the video helped a lot. My unit came with one of the hydraulic cylinders bent at an angle straight out of the box. I called for a replacement cylinder which came about ten days later. The unit squeaks a bit but otherwise works well.

This is my second Gazelle. I had my first one about 15 years ago, and loved it then too. This model has much more resistance and has a better workout. I was worried about the assembly as it looked complicated, but I just followed the instructions step by step and had it assembled in just over an hour. I love that there is no impact on our joints when we use it, even my 77 year old mother uses it!!

Setup was easy. I trained on an older one until recently. Two issues. The older units have tougher pistons which made my workouts good and solid. Built up good arm and shoulder muscles and broke a sweat easily. The new units have the spring loaded cables which actually raises the back of the foot a bit. The old ones have no spring and are a little longer so the foot is more level. I will keep the new one until I eventually find a used older one with pistons. The ones without pistons are a total waste of money, no resistance to make you work so you would be better off to go for a walk.
