Life is easy with this
I have been using a Dewalt laser level for many years for indoor projects but recently started doing concrete work outside and this grade rod make setting the forms and excavating for the base a walk in the park. It is very lightweight but sturdy and can be taken apart to clean in case you drop it in the mud. It isn't the easiest to see in sunlight, especially if the laser is some distance away. Using the red sunglasses helps somewhat but in direct sunlight you will have to use a laser detector which make using this grade rod more cumbersome. Over all I give this item five stars since it does what I expect it to and wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one if needed.

Lightweight, thin metal
Lightweight and perfect. Unfortunately already got dented and cant close all the way, metal is a bit thin, but i suppose thats whats needed to make it so lightweight.

Great story board
Perfect does the job easy to read from a distance, slides smoothly with solid locking buttons. This one is in 12” feet however you may need one in decimal feet or tenths if your plans call for that.
