The Ascendant meditation bench is intended for seiza (kneeling) sitting position. It increases circulation in your legs while effortlessly sitting. This bench puts you in a straight line, if you will, balancing you against gravity (we call it gravity neutral, as it seems to neutralize gravity). It has one half curved leg which is flat at the bottom, so you can adjust while you sit or sit perfectly flat. Posture therapy: Ascendant meditation bench helps improve your posture while sitting or meditating. It keeps you in line by the very nature of tits design; as you sit they guide you. This meditation bench gives the feel of a lessened pull of gravity and make your body want to sit in posture friendly positions, relieving the physical pain or discomfort that can be associated with meditating. Materials used: BROCADE is a class of richly decorative shuttle-woven fabrics, often made in colored silks and with or without gold and silver threads. It is a mainstay that has timeless appeal in home interior design and decor. WOOD: We use pine and douglas fir woods which are finished with a mahogany stain. Then we add the cushion made with foam and fabric of your choice using staples and decorative nails. It was shipped very quickly which I appreciated since I couldn't wait to get it! Review: This is a wonderful meditation stool - This is a wonderful meditation stool. It takes a little getting used to as the instructions that came with it indicated. But I was looking for something that would take the pressure off my back and allow me to sit for longer periods of time and this has worked out wonderfully. I do used it in combination with a pillow on the floor for my knees because I am an older woman and I just need a little extra support in some areas. And it is beautiful. I do get many compliments when I take it with me to retreats. Thank you very much!
