Le Creuset Stoneware European Butter Dish, Cerise

I love this butter dish! Not only is it the classic red from Le Creuset but it is large enough to hold two butter cubes and has a great handle which is very important when working with butter and oil’s last thing you need is a butter dish with no handle!! I took two photos just so you can see the difference! I don’t know why I used the one on the right the white one for so long with no handle makes a huge difference when cooking and the red one looks so much better!!

My wife ordered this while I was thinking any other butter trays would've been 1/3 of the price... Now I'm so glad she purchased this Le Creucet. It's really well made and actually much more compact and cute than what the picture made me imagine. It still can hold two butter sticks though. My wife and I love Le Creucet design! (yes it comes with the price but worth it.)

What more can you ask? I cringed at the price originally, but this is nice. Will hold four little half sticks, or obviously two regular size sticks. And of course one big gourmet 'lump'. I was surprised at first, the lid is much heavier than the base but it all works together. I honestly can't vouch for the durability just yet, since we haven't dropped it and hope we won't. But we're pleased with the its looks and utility.

I have both this wider butter dish and the slimmer option and this is by far my favorite. I prefer to use Kerry Gold grass fed Irish butter, which is cut in a fat rectangle instead of thin sticks like most American butters. If you prefer that kind of butter, it fits into this butter dish perfectly! And if not, I have noticed the slimmer butter dish is sometimes a tight fit for American butter sticks - you could always cut your butter stick in half and use this option. Another classic, beautiful piece from Le Creuset in any color!

This butter dish is great. It goes perfectly with my Le Creuset Cerise collection. I also love the fact that it holds the large rectangular butter sticks, like the Kerrygold butter. It’s large and beautiful. Highly recommended.

I'm a bit clumsy, and I've dropped this lid a number of times without incident. Finally, last time I dropped it, it fell hard and a small chip came off (not visible from the outside, though). After all I've put this poor little butter dish through, I must say I'm impressed with its durability. This is some quality ceramic.If I ever do finally succeed in destroying it, I will be buying another exactly like it.

Fits most butter blocks all over the world. Cover creates a good seal with the bottom, so butter can be outside fridge for a day or two without spoiling. And it looks good as well!
