I and my Significant other are both overweight. We use them in our reclining rocker chairs. Good support and feels good on lower back.

For me yes. Try using a rolled up towel under your back, try different positions from low lumbar to to high lumbar almost in the chest area. If that relieves pain than the lumbar pillow might work for you.
