SECOND PS3 WIRELESS CONTROLLER REVIEW W OLD ONE INCLUDED
..my previous outlook on this controller is at the very bottom. this is part 2,notice the difference in paint quality, lets get on with this. ..well well... it has been a sojourn. it has been an oddessy mixed with knotted veins on the forhead and rewards nary so valuable, with this controller. at last for the past two days since the accessories arrived ive been working with this controller;charge/play cable,blue tooth dongles, and wireless keypad all together. for what its worth.. despite the small wear-and-tear i can see on the wireless ps3 device, its in good working condition-ill just state to the court before going on that it would not have survived if i had owned this at age 10/11/12/13/14/15/16/17/18/19/20/21/or 22- and everything works well.. that said.. the illusion that it or parts of it dont work, is mind boggling. for the last couple weeks as ive tested this..feww[...] i came..THIS 99%/99% close, to asking for a refund for the controller, and then subsequently asking for a refund for the wireless keypad, dongles and wire, as i was sure this had become a wasted time and money fiasco because that was the way it was. ..but.. if you have the will, and the patience, not to reach for the steel bat nexr to you in your room you feel so very much like bringing right down on this controller with all your might-keep this in mind; ..there is, if at all, very little being done for this kind of hardware. thats the price of an entity like sony who sold every fiber of themselves to the fiery down below for as much wealth as possible.and WHAT IS being done, is being worked on by third party people(and what a party, let me tell you) who without the massive rebobinar funds like sony unfortunatly has, work on the existing software slooooowly. motion joy.. xpadder... if you have these.. they are not bugged. they are not glitched(most of the time).. they are full of quirks. yet they are like the cells powering your body. you cant run this controller without them. it is an obstacle with these programs combined with this hardware-its impossible without them. patience. if you should ever come across this difficult terrain as i have and conquered, patitience will prevent you oh buyer from flinging every part of this things hardware back at its sellers from far across every part of the world. the wireless ps3 controller sold here-at least the one i got- is by no means a fraud. a fake. a sham. nah(although it does seem like they get these from the used asian goodwill store, dont fret though) as someone who uses this controller soley for the computer, the dongles cable and wireless keypad ive purchased all work. on a pc laptop. i will be posting similar reviews in all the seperate components i bought particularly, which you can see under my name, as they all work for this wireless ps3 controller.when using this with a pc, you need motion joy and xpadder which will work.(avoid the updates. yove been warned about that now) old republic here i come. five star rating. making the bottom review old and void. end communcation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [..going to write another review but the following account of woe is as follows. please read this very thoroughly and carefully to understand the 1 star rating. on the date of writing this review i joyously ripped open my weak and silly metal mail box to find what ive been waiting for, for days-the ps3 wireless controller. awsome, no? i take it back to my house, thinking of playing alone in the dark and soon old republic with this, and oh the memories that will come. i open the package, pull out the controller- and air follows after. um.. theres.. nothing to connect it to the computer. n.o.t.h.i.n.g. air. zip. nata. squat. ralvmungio. so..why bother sending the ps3 controller..if you never had anything to connect it to...? a usb piece thing?... a cable perhaps..? it makes the very thought of the saying ''until tommorow'',all the more tickly, in my fist. theres..nothing but the controller in the bag. i could raise an ant farm in there and theyd never find anything but the air that comes after they open the bottom. heres how it goes. until i find that cable-usb whatever you use to connect a ps3 wireless controller to a pc or playstation 3-whatever- my rating for this product is 1%, and i suggest to not buy it. however should i find whatever you need(a..cable? its..wireless. wireless. wheres the usb part. i bought this..because its supposed to be WIRELESS!!!!!!!) to make this work.. ill raise that to a 5 star restaurant rating. until then.. consider this my current evalutation until the last part of this god forsaken story comes to a close the way it was meant to be. ..but seriously. dont off-handedly include anything about a usb cable unless its included. jesus crist.. Best controller for the PS3

Rating: 4 1/2 stars LIKES: * QUALITY: In my experience, when it comes to controllers for the PS3, you pretty much get what you pay for. Over the years, I've owned a PS1, a PS2, and a PS3, and at various times I've tried 3rd party controllers in an attempt to add multiplayer capability at a more reasonable price ... and unfortunately, I've rarely been happy. As long as you can afford it, this seems to be the best controller you can get for the PS3 ... it has the best balance of heft, solid construction, good tactile resistance in the buttons and thumbsticks, excellent durability, good vibration feel, good communication range, reasonably fast charge time (2.5 hrs or less), and a long-lived battery. NITS: * Price: Authentic Sony controllers are expensive ... but as mentioned above, you generally get what you pay for. * Charging Cord not included: You'd think that in purchasing a spare/replacement controller that it would come with a charging cord, right ? Nope. Sony deliberately omits it, and instead instructs customers to "use the one that comes with your PS3". I recently purchased a charging station to eliminate that bottleneck ... which was probably Sony's goal in witholding charging cords from their spare controllers. * Minor design issues: (a) when putting the controller down during active play, there's an occasional tendency for one of the L2/R2 buttons to activate if you're not gentle. A pair of small support feet on the front of the controller, placed just behind and below those 2 buttons, would solve that. (b) I wish the charging cord connector port was indented slightly, to be self-guiding, to make connections faster and more eyes-free. (c) L3 & R3 are too easily unintentionally activated while using the sticks for movement in many games ... case in point is Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, where you FREQUENTLY end up squatting in mid-combat, while maneuvering during a melee, which is very frustrating. They need to increase the activation pressure for L3/R3 slightly in order to solve that. Bottom line: I've tried several other brands, and even though the Sony controller is the most expensive among them, it's also the best. Highly Recommended.

Fits in your hand just right
Hey all this is Sam AKA Para in the gaming review community. This is one of many gaming reviews I will be starting for Amazon, so I hope you enjoy. Going to be talking about the PS3 controller which I have to say right off the bat has a great feel to it. It is light but durable at the same time. After playing for long hours I notice no pain in my hands, just the way the designed this controller it just fits right in your hands and is not stressing out you muscles or having you to curve your hands around it just to hold it. The vibration feedback is very well and is not super strong that it feels like a back massager or making your hands go numb, but it is not also so weak that you cannot even feel it. It gives just the right amount. The motion control has been done very well and I was surprised at first but they nailed it. You don't even need a wii mote for the simple technology Sony has put in the controller lol. The triggers are in just the right position but the triggers themselves could use a bit of a lift, they just seem a bit too small. I love that everything is pressure sensitive from the triggers to the actually buttons with is great for racing games. The joy sticks are perfectly assessable and once again do not strain your hands trying to use them. Overall the controller is very nice and easy to use. Battery life is the best I have seen in a wireless controller to date. Good work Sony not changing to original controller, only improving them slightly (Don't change what isn't broken and Sony has done that with the controller). Comfortable and long lasting
I, like many of you, have gone through countless controllers from numerous versions of consoles over the years. Buttons fail, batteries die, and the controller becomes unusable. Thankfully, this PS3 controller was built a bit better than those older controllers. I've had these two controllers for well over 4 years now and everything still works fine. Battery charge is still acceptable (I use the Energizer two-remote charger, also located here on Amazon) and doesn't seem to drain very fast. The buttons and analog sticks are still tight and function as expected. Add to the fact that this remote works through Bluetooth and you have a fairly nice package. No wires to fuss with and nothing to fray (or gnawed on by your pet). The controller itself, however, isn't the most comfortable over long periods of time. Yes, it is better than the big and bulky XBOX controller - sorry for you XBOX controller fans - that thing is the size of a brick. This controller, however, slowly becomes uncomfortable as you hold it. I find myself shaking one hand or the other out during gameplay as my fingers begin to tense up. I'm not saying it is a bad design - just not ergonomic for the long gaming sessions. I'm not sure how they could make it better - but I am holding out hope that the PS4 controller is better to hold for extended periods. Overall, I'd recommend this remote vs some of the cheaper 3rd party remotes, as it works and works well without any issue. I've not always said that in the past for other gaming consoles (I have owned numerous 3rd party remotes, as the one released with the gaming console was inferior) but can say that Sony came up with a reliable and useful remote that isn't designed to fail after some use. That being said - these are a bit more expensive than 3rd party remotes, but as the saying goes - you get what you pay for.

Quality Replacement or Second Controller
I'm always skeptical when buying replacement parts for a console, and was dreading buying a second PS3 controller, due to the highly sensitive SIXAXIS function and the joysticks. So, after a looooong deliberation and not willing to fork over $90 at a store, I purchased this one as it seemed reputable and fairly priced. When it arrived, I put it through the paces by trialing it with Lair, which is predominantly SIXAXIS controlled, and was extremely impressed with the responsiveness. It also passed the Heavy Rain challenge - which is joystick-sensitive reliant - so I really can't fault the controller as a whole. My original controller (OC) came from China, and this controller (TC) was manufactured in Canada, and while they both play identically, there are some cosmetic differences between the 2. The main differences being: *High gloss finish on OC, except on joysticks and R1/R2/L1/L2 buttons -- Matte finish on TC, including all buttons. *OC is slightly heavier, and seems to have additional weighting in the hand grips -- TC is center-weighted and gives a lighter feel. *R2/L2 & R3/L3 on TC are less brush-sensitive and have a more definitive "click" (this can be beneficial or detrimental depending on what game you're playing). *OC and TC both turn on at around 11 seconds at system start-up, but OC takes about 3 seconds when activating as second controller, whereby TC only takes 1 second. I haven't opened both controllers to compare the guts of them but the apparent differences are so negligible, I wouldn't even bother. I do swap controllers depending on the style of game I'm playing, and will use TC for games that require more sensitive or specific button control, like Mortal Kombat, Lair or Heavy Rain, but also know I can rely on it for any game when my OC runs flat! Top-notch product.

Good controller, definitely worth getting instead of knockoffs
First off I have to say those looking at other controllers online seeing them for 20 dollars or less, DON'T EVEN CONSIDER BUYING THEM! Though some may look very similar to real brand name, these knockoffs are cheap Chinese creations that often perform only as good as their quality allows; which is not much. I would recommend that you put the extra cash into getting this official ps3 controller. It performs great, the battery is long lived, at around 4-6 hours of play (and I play alot), the weight is little hefty but feels good in your hands. Just make sure you already have a usb charging cable for them, or get one when you buy it. I also like the feature if you hold down the PS button with a already connected controller, it will power on the ps3 if it is off. Also the wireless version is worth it, no wires gives you so much freedom to move where you want, how you want, and no worrying about pulling out cords accidently or tripping over them (I used to always do this with my ps2 lol). Overall I highly recommend this controller over any others, worth every penny.

Assuming I'm using the real deal, I'd bet there are better bootlegs out there!
My son gave me this controller as a birthday present because the original that came with the PS3 console developed a pronounced problem: the left analog stick started centering itself and sticking in a non-neutral position (characters walked and I didn't even need to touch the stick, menu options scrolled by so I'd wind up clicking the wrong one even as I tried to stop the scrolling). That controller wasn't even a year old ... but that's a different grumble. I'm one who simply expects a $40 device, especially one with the Sony name attached to it, to be well-constructed and work, so appreciating the technical aspects of a controller, beyond making sure I've got the right one for the job, isn't a priority. The device rumbles. All the controls do what they are supposed to do. That level of detail is pretty much sufficient for me. However, out of the box, this controller's upper left button (L1) was loose, never seated properly and, while it did work, felt sloppy. Meanwhile, the right shoulder button was stable, solid, well-seated. A controller's hand-feel is, to me, a huge part of the console gaming experience. When I play, I want to forget I have a controller in my hands, because being reminded by a problem pulls me out of the flow. I suffer Sony's controllers (much, much prefer the hand-feel of the Xbox controller) because certain games are PS3-only. I imagine a lot of ergonomic design goes into creating a great controller, but my hands assert Sony has always been second to Microsoft in this respect. It doesn't help that Sony controllers feel of lower quality construction overall and, in my experience, have been problem-prone. I'd like to be clear and fair: I press the L1 button, and while it wiggles and is noisy, it does work. It has worked the first time and every time since. I'm disappointed in the quality, but I'm not exchanging the device. An annoying L1 button is peanuts compared to a seriously wonky left analog stick! But, at best, it secures this product's average rating. --- Edit: Almost 11 months to the day, I replaced this controller (the black one), because it acquired the same problem as the Sony original it had replaced. However, *both* analog sticks on this replacement developed that annoying, documented non-centering/sticking problem. Both! In less than a year! What to do? Sigh disapprovingly and get another. This time I chose the blue version. I wasn't having much luck with black versions; the blue was less expensive; reviews said it felt sturdier than other non-black colors. I really, really don't care about the color of a game controller. I just want one that will work for longer than a year. (Don't tell me all controllers have a functional, max-one-year lifespan ... I still have my original XBox 360 controller. It still works like a champ.) Not impressed. Two controllers in two years. But then, they do say third time's the charm. Or maybe blue's the charm. Or maybe this controller was made on a non-lemon day. Fingers crossed. --- Edit (Summer 2016) The third controller stayed in the box for a year, as gaming had to be put on hold. 2015 saw us return to intensive gaming. Finally opening the box, we hoped 3rd time would be the charm. *sigh* Within the year, the problems were even worse than the previous 2 controllers. Both analog sticks stick, such that the camera will spin non-stop until you manually recenter the stick. As for the left stick, I can't tell you the number of times my PC has walked off edges and died because taking the thumb off the stick doesn't stop the directional movement. I don't know if this is a bootleg version. Having watched a few YouTube videos on spotting fakes, I see aspects that look like the original that came with the system. There are also aspects that don't. Either way, I'm dropping this review to one star. This level of poor performance is simply not acceptable! Not once and certainly not multiple times.

Controller assolutamente originale,arriva ben imballato e nello scatolo azzurro marchiato Sony! Si nota che è l'originale già dal peso che è identico a quello che trovai nella PS3 e inoltre i comandi sono fatti allo stesso modo e rispondono immediatamente non appena si vanno ad usare,l'ho già provato su alcuni titoli sparatutto. Anche la batteria funziona benissimo,ho utilizzato il cavo usb del vecchio controller e la carica è durata all'incirca 130 minuti,esattamente come l'originale! (solitamente dura 2 ore esatte,ma perchè spesso mettevo a caricare il vecchio controller non appena appariva il messaggio di inserire l'usb e quindi c'era già quel 10-15% di carica). Come ha già anticipato qualcuno,le 2 levette analogiche in effetti sono un po rigide da muovere,ma secondo me solo perchè il controller è nuovo,man mano che verranno usate tenderanno ad ammorbidirsi un po. Se può essere d'aiuto per altri utenti io ho acquistato il controller venduto da GOLDEALS e spedito da Amazon,quindi se qualcuno ha ricevuto un fake molto probabilmente dipende dal venditore,perchè il mio è l'originale. L'unica pecca a mio avviso è il prezzo,perchè comunque la PS3 sta da oltre 10 anni e il controller viene venduto a prezzo pieno,ma non avevo altra scelta in quanto in negozio è sempre più difficile trovare i modelli originali. Spedizione rapidissima nonostante il venditore straniero,incredibile!

Un corps en plastique texturé assez surprenant.
Grand habitué du dual shock, je n'ai que du bon à dire sur la manette officielle Sony. Petites surprises quand même en déballant le produit : - la manette est plus légère que les précédentes versions. On sent moins son poids en main. Selon que vous appréciez les manettes légères ou pas, vous préfèrerez cette version allégée ou pas. Moi j'ai mis un peu de mal à m'y faire. - le corps est en plastique très légèrement texturé, et non lisse comme les modèles précédents. Je trouve l'idée moyenne, dans la mesure où la texture n'est pas suffisante pour offrir un vrai caractère anti-dérappant. Avec un revêtement en caoutchouc ou une texture plus marquée, ça aurait été mieux. En l'état, ça ne fait que rendre le contact un peu granuleux, ce que je n'aime pas particulièrement. Heureusement c'est très léger, on finit par s'y faire.

It works nicely !
I was anxious for years not knowing why my game was glitching (Franklin in GTA 5 not being able to drive a car, his cell always coming out, walking slowly (slow motion), my PS3 player or my DVD game itself, well it was the joystick! The other 2 I had were making a rattling sound when shaken so they were both broken (being dropped/thrown against the wall countless times, yes I have anger issues, I hate myself for that and I am trying not to get mad when I play GT5 now, a little older at 54). I enjoy playing with just Franklin listening to his rap in a stolen car, smoking his bong , driving mad, hitting pedestrians, stealing their $, going in the gun shop and kill all the cops until I run out of bullets and get shot. Thx Amazon and the seller who sold me the joystick, I deprived myself of playing for so long, the joystick is on top of my piano (I practiced classical for hours, time 2 play GTA 5 !
