This product says it "contains the highest concentration currently available", yet other sellers sell 2.5%. Can anyone shed light on this?

The 2.5% claim does not really represent the % of pure retinol, rather it is the content of a retinol liposome which itself is actually only 1% retinol. The actual % of retinol is .01*2.5= .025% pure retinol.

What if it doens't burn in the least or cause any type of flaking?

I have never had " burning sensations" from Skinceuticals. I have had have some flaking. After continued usage I have found the flaking nearly subsides.

Does this product work well on stretch marks?

The product is designed for the Face. The amount in the tube compared to the amount of stretchmarks might not be enough. The cost might be prohibitive, if you have a lot of marks. I had surgery recently myself, and won't use it for that. I am using a cream with 80% shea butter.

Does this also help clear up melasma?

We are a seller of this product and can address your question. This product would not be considered a first line over the counter treatment for melasma. Hydroquinone, which can be found in a few OTC medicines, is a common first treatment for melasma. OTC medicines will not contain as high a strength as would a prescription drug, but if your condition is not severe, you might find the OTC hydroquinone product works well. Adding a tretinoin, such as this SkinCeuticals product, to a hydroquinone product could enhance the effect. Hope this helps!
