Is it different enough from ALTTP to where I won't feel deja vu?

you'll feel SOME deja vu, but it's not unpleasant. I enjoyed ALTTP very much, and this one has so many awesome elements to it that any Zelda fan would be truly missing out if they didn't buy it. I got the 3DS mostly for Ocarina of Time, but A Link Between Worlds definitely helped make the decision for me. Truly awesome game and so worth the buy.

what is the age cut off? My son is 5 & really wants a Zelda game. I jus want to make sure he is able to play the game on his own & not having to watch dad play it to enjoy it.

The most a kid that young might have trouble with would be reading and some of the more complex puzzles. He should be fine; my first Zelda was Ocarina of Time when I was 7, and I’m sure this is far more accessible than the first-ever 3D Zelda from ‘98.

Absolutely. Zelda games are stand alone. You can play any of them without out the others and have a great time. Good game.

Is this game compatible with the 2DS?

All 3DS games are compatible with the 2DS so you need to stop asking this question over and over on every product page.
