Absolutely incredible! Trust me, you need this table in your life.
Ever since it was announced, I’ve wanted the Sobro Side Table. They’ve packed an incredible number of features into a single table, and they all combine to produce a truly stunning piece. It’s perfect as an end table in your family room – but perhaps, it works even better as a nightstand. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve woken up and wanted a cold drink. Instead of having to actually get out of bed (especially when you’re tired, or it’s cold) the convenience of having the cooler drawer is an absolute game changer. Wireless charging makes a ton of sense for a table as well, considering most newer model phones support Qi charging. Instead of fumbling with cords, I simply set my iPhone on this table and know that it’s charging. Perhaps one of the more underrated aspects of this table are the LED lights. There’s an LED light strip both on the rear, and the front of the table. The rear light can be changed to virtually any color, whereas the front one can be changed but is limited to varying degrees of white. What’s amazing though, is you can use the mobile app to set the front light to motion-activated. While it might sound unnecessary, if you’re using it as a nightstand in a dark room, that little bit of light can be clutch if you’re getting up for any reason in the middle of the night. Did I mention that it has a built-in alarm clock function, and can also play music via bluetooth? PROS + Cooler drawer means cold drinks, wherever you have this table + Wireless charging, power outlets, USB outlets – it’s ready to charge anything you need + LED lights are amazing + The top slot is perfect for storing books, your iPad, or anything else you want to quickly access + Quality of the table is rock solid CONS + Wish the front light could be configured with more colors, similar to the back + Currently, no voice command/smart speaker support. I’m sure they’re considering this for the future though. Would love to be able to say "Hey Alexa, set the Sobro alarm clock for 6am" + At times, the mobile app isn't as responsive as I'd expect. Typically not an issue though. Would absolutely recommend this table as an addition to your home. I already want to buy another one.

Serviceable hardware; horrible software.
I was initially very happy with this nightstand. I kept cold drinks in the fridge, charged my devices, etc. Mostly without issue. However, some serious shortcomings have been made apparent: - Outside of the smartphone app, there is zero way to control virtually anything about it - Want to turn the front lights on or off? it *must* be done through the app - Want to turn the fridge on? It *must* be done through the app - etc. - The connection to the app is *through a remote server*, there is no way to control it on your local network; it needs to "phone home" to receive its instructions. - The fridge doesn't always close fully unless you make sure to really push it closed. If the fridge is open for more than 5 minutes, it shuts off; so if you don't notice that it hasn't fully closed, you will come back to everything inside being room temperature. These led to a very bad experience this past week. - Fridge was slightly opened, so it shut down - I went to turn it back on in the app, and noticed that it wasn't accepting commands (customer service confirmed that they are having server problems at the moment) - So, now, I have no way to even turn the fridge on Beware: if this company ever goes out of business, if your internet is down, or if the nightstand is somehow unable to connect to your wifi or the internet: - you will be unable to turn your fridge on - You will be unable to turn off the front light (which comes on and flashes every once in a while to indicate that it's in setup mode) - You will be left with an overpriced nightstand, with a power strip. I am certainly never buying anything from them ever again, and would recommend that nobody else does either. At this point, I'm tempted to crack it open, find the control for the fridge, and just short whatever I need to to put it permanently in the "on" position. Amended to add: In the three years since I first wrote this, the fridge has completely died. It is now a worthless little box. On the plus side, there's now nothing to lose if I tear it apart and see what I can do inside it.

For those having issues with the app..
Pros: Good build quality Not gimmicky Looks great Practical Speaker sound is decent-good (depending on your preference) Cooler sound is not too loud (depending on your preference) You have some control over functionality All in one solution (Wireless charging, Bluetooth speakers, Extra ports) Cons: Price App (needs work, not intuitive, lacking in usability) Speaker sound is slightly boxy (this depends on your preference) If you want to use the cooler, the sound may be a problem for some Storage space may not be ideal for some Connecting the nightstand to the app is frustrating, inconvenient at best Full Review: Before I get to the app portion of this review I just want to say that I think this product is great overall. It's not gimmicky, it's practical and it looks really nice but because of it's price range, I think there are some things that could be better. I was hesitant to buy it at first because of how expensive it was. Having now received the night stand, I still don't feel it justifies paying over $899 but I can't say that I was entirely disappointed either. It has good build quality, it's a solid nightstand with useful bells and whistles. If that's good enough for you, then this is definitely something to consider. But if price plays a major role for you, then you may be less forgiving about where it falls short. For you audiophiles out there, the speakers have a decent to good, loud, full-ish and pleasant sound. That said, it does sound a little boxy but it doesn't sound overly cheap. The boxy sound improves when songs are played at higher volumes. But for nearly $1k, I feel the sound could have been more refined. You can customize the lights or turn them off if you don't like them. I also like that they gave us the option to turn off the cooler so that we can use the two drawers normally. Even though I'm a light sleeper, I'm personally not bothered by the sound it makes when the cooler functionality is turned on. Just know that if you or your partner have sensitive ears, you do have the option of turning it off via the application. The size of each drawer isn't that big, but it's fine for me since I don't plan on putting much in there to begin with. Now regarding the app portion, this is where it falls short. Most of the functionalities I mentioned above can only be controlled by the Sobro's app. Unfortunately, the app is what needs work. For the average consumer, it's not the most intuitive experience. Once you're connected and have played around with it, you realize that it's a pretty basic set up. For what it is, it does the job. If you can get by some if the issues I'm about to mention, then it's no big deal it's just more of an inconvenience. However, it leaves a lot to be desired visually and when navigating the app, you find that usability is lacking. The most frustrating award has to go to getting the nightstand set up on the app to begin with. How quickly you can accomplish this entirely depends on how tech savvy you are. If you're knowledgeable with tech then it may take more or less about 15-30 minutes to figure it out. For those still experiencing issues, below are some tips you can follow to see if it helps. After some trouble shooting, I managed to get it to connect by doing the following on an iPad: - Downloaded the Sobro's app - Before opening the app, check your wifi connection. Most folks can connect to either one of two bands (2Ghz and a 5Ghz). The 5Ghz did not work for me, I had to switch over to the 2Ghz band to finally get this thing to work. (If this is like a foreign language to you, just make sure that you are connected to your wifi that doesn't have the name 5g on it) - I also made sure to turn off the auto connect function in the iPad's wifi settings. I had issues switching between my wifi and the nightstand's hot spot due to the auto connect function, so turning it off worked for me. (You can turn this back on once the nightstand is connected) - Once I opened the app, I signed in, followed the promptings and entered my wifi password (while connected to my 2Ghz wifi) - I continued following the apps instructions, I was then told to connect to the nightstand's hotspot. I went to my iPad's wifi settings and found the hotspot that contain the name Sobro. I selected it and switched back to the Sobro's app. Which then detected the nightstand. (If you're not seeing the hotspot, follow the app's instructions to make sure the hot spot is turned on. Otherwise, you can unplug the nightstand and plug it back in then try again.) - I continued with the instructions and I was then asked to switch back to my wifi, I went back to my wifi settings and switched back to my 2Ghz wifi connection then went back to the Sobro's app. This then automatically started the connection process until it was finally complete! For a device that heavily relies on an app to work it, it's important that the developers take the time to update the app. It'll significantly improve the user experience. I personally enjoy this nightstand. It just works for me and I'm willing to look over the cons. Overall, I'm glad I took the plunge. That said, I tried to be fair. Because of the nearly $1K price tag, I can't help but hold it to a higher standard. If this was a more affordable product, it would be easier to overlook a lot of these issues.

I love the Sobro Side Table!
I am so excited about my Sobro Side Table. This table is everything I could have dreamed of! My bedroom is always full of wires and adapters for all of my devices. This table allows me to charge my phone via the Wireless Charging Pad on the top. It’s so convenient and easy. My wife’s favorite part of the table is that it has a cooler drawer. As we have young children, this allows us to store drinks next to the bed for their next feedings. We do not need to go downstairs to the fridge anymore to grab it. I also love to have cold water in my bedroom at night. My older child LOVES the lights on the table. She loves to be able to change the lights and have a dance party before bed. It’s a fun way to unwind at night. The table is great quality and a nice compact footprint, it doesn’t take up too much space. I am planning to buy another one so we can have another table on the other side of our bed. The sound quality of the speakers do not disappoint. It’s an amazing all in one side table! Additionally, when I first received the table, I connected the app and it was very easy to connect. The functions are easy to navigate and I have no complaints with it. I highly recommend this table.

Replaces a small fridge
Great piece of furniture. App is easy to use. Looks better than the small fridge that I had in my bedroom.

Make sure you get a clock with your Sobro side table
Sobro side desk would not connect to the app Took me a while to actually contact them and get help we went back-and-forth finally they agreed it was not working and I sent it back to them in Pomona California. they took a month and a half to get me the replacement and that unit had a Clock And different size feet to choose from. No clock in the original Sobro that was shipped to me. So make sure you get a clock. I realized the first one was an old one. I do not understand that. Works OK the app only allows you to control the lights and to turn alarm on. Bluetooth speakers are OK in the fridge keeps things cool.

A small list of problems
Firstly and least of all the wrong color was sent. Moving past that, I figured just keeping the wrong color would be worth the hassle of trying to send it back and get the right color. Moving on to the actual problems. So as I stated I decided to keep the wrong color instead of trying to go through the motions of replacing it. Got it set up which was pretty easy (just screwing in the legs and plugging it in). I went about testing things like the wireless charging. It doesn't keep a stable connection with my galaxy watch at all no matter how I place it. As for my phone, it has major issues charging with my case on it unless I place it juuuuust perfect. Now for the big one. 90% of the functionality of this splendid piece of modern technology is controlled from the app and only from the app. There is zero manual functionality to the thing except some basic dimmers for the lights in the back. Want to turn on the motion activated front light, need the app. Want to turn the fridge drawer on or off, need the app. Want full functionality for the lights on the back, need the app. Want to set an alarm, need the app. You see where I'm going with this. Now before you all say, well, why not just use the app. I went to download the app and it's unavailable in the app stone for android because "the app is for an older version of android". I'm not even using a new phone, currently a galaxy s10. For a $700 piece of furniture this is simply unacceptable. I've had it for less than 6 hours and have already contacted the sellers for a refund.

Excellent hardware with Terrible Software
I received the end-tables (2EA) almost 2 months ago. The packaging was easy to open. There were 5 pieces of clear plastic that was extremely satisfying to peel. The power outlets work well. The speakers work well with the provided aux cable. The refrigerator drawer works well enough. Unfortunately, it does not keep food as cold as a refrigerator. You cannot keep things like yogurt in the drawer, but it does keep 9 12oz cans of soda cool or 7 12oz beer bottles. The drawers are not long enough to fit most wine bottles. The wireless chargers are AMAZING and make it sooooo easy and convenient to charge my phone. I also love the overall look and design of the pieces. Wish they manufactured a white and black model that would match the coffee table. The big problem is software. Unlike the coffee table which has manual buttons and knobs, the lights can only be controlled with the application. There are no manual knobs to control them with. Unfortunately, that application is extremely buggy; especially on android devices.Additionally, the app requires connection through your wifi router in order to connect the tables to your mobile device. I have not gotten it to connect and Sobro's customer support has ignored my pleas for assistance. The lights rear will turn on temporarily when tapping the dimmer knob on the rear, but cannot actually be controlled. The front light will glow temporarily while attempting to connect to connect to wifi, but, again, will not stay on with manual controls. Finally, the Bluetooth connection when wireless playing music is wonky at best. I have not gotten it to consistently stay connected and cannot consistently get it to connect to my device in the first place. Also, you cannot connect multiple end-tables to one bluetooth device. You can utilize aux splitter cables to get a quazi-surround sound environment if you own more than 1 of these tables as I do. Overall the hardware can be improved by including manual controls for the lights, improving the power of the refrigerator, and having more color options. As of right now the software is complete garbage and prevents the device from being utilized to its full capabilities.
