I have the John Deere model 115 which I purchased new 5/25/06 and the hopper latch strap recently failed. Since this strap lasted all these years I wanted to stay with OEM. Instead of using rivet to install I used a 5/16-18 bolt with a self locking nut and the head of the bolt does not interfere with the bags. Also, I lube the bar and the strap hole with a dry lubricate spray which I have done periodically through the years. Makes a big difference and works great.

This fit my John Deere L120 lawn tractor bagger perfectly. I had replaced this part previously.If this is the first time you are replacing this part you will need to drill out the rivet holding the OEM part in and replace it with a nut, bolt and washers. Replacing it the second time just remove the nut bolt and washer remove the broken strap and install the new part.My last replacement strap lasted about 3 years.

I installed mine and it’s like the original….mine needed to be drilled and installed with a new bolt.Otherwise it’s a perfect fit .

OEM part, and no better or worse than the original, so I figure in about 8-9 years this one will also fail. It's basically a shaped piece of rubber, and probable cost of production is less than 50 cents, but because - John Deere OEM - we have to pay $12. Somebody made some money somewhere!
