Can't recommend this enough
I very very rarely leave reviews on anything. But I'm so so happy that I found this cookbook and it has made my maternity leave over the last few months an absolute joy.I'm not a natural cook and I'm mostly impatient when it comes to cooking for myself. This book has really made me interested in making food for my baby and to try out new things I never would have made.Pros:- Recipes are super quick. This is important when they're going to wake up from a nap any second or are bored in a high chair! Most take less than 30 minutes which is essential for me.- Not a lot of faffing or ingredients required - normal things we'd buy and have in the house (bar a couple of things like sesame oil).- Fantastically tasty recipes. My husband is SUCH a fan, as is my baby.- Easy to make. Pretty much everything I've made has been really straightforward.- It's really pushed me to try out new things (I can finally make a good white sauce for example).- A lot of variety and good nutritional value for my baby. Reviewers saying things should be lower fat etc should remember that babies and children are not supposed to be dieting.- Pretty much everything freezes or keeps well. I batch make and freeze a lot.Cons:- Although I like that mostly the recipes are a guideline rather than exacting, there are a couple of mistakes where things are on the ingredient list but missed out. Not too much of an issue though, I just missed them out.- A bit inconsistent with freezing/keeping advice. Not every recipe has a comment. To be honest though, these are small points and I am genuinely thankful to Rebecca for making our weaning process a lot more fun and enjoyable.

My baby loves it (and so do I!)
I don't usually leave reviews, but this book is great and I really wanted to recommend it to anyone considering buying it! My 8 month old loves everything I've made for him so far, and I'm also really impressed with what I've tried. The recipes are very quick and easy to make, but are healthy and nutritious. I love the range of recipes, from breakfast to finger foods, and ideas for fussy eaters. This booked has helped weaning become enjoyable and tasty!

Very helpful and full of useful info
Love this book, had a lot of useful information concerning weaning and what is expected at what stage. The recipes look amazing, as well as quick and easy to make. I purchased 2 other baby led weaning books, which I returned due to the amount of unhelpful jargon.

Good recipes but sooo much cheese!
I was recommended this book and I do like it and would recommend it to others. The good: It's given me the inspiration and confidence to carry on with baby led weaning (which my baby definitely prefers). The recipes are tasty and things all of us have enjoyed. There's nothing particularly complicated in here - the recipes are easy to follow and so far the ingredients are things I already have in.There are some genuinely quick and easy things I wouldn'tve thought of - like a microwave pasta sauce etc.I haven't found anything too adventurous for my 7 month old. The book is great at explaining how to serve the food to your baby. I saw a reviewer saying a 6 month old wouldn't have chicken nuggets and chips. Mine did! Chicken "nuggets" cut lengthwise and sweet potato wedges. He loved it and was fine eating it. But this obviously depends on your individual approach to weaning and your baby's ability to hold, chew, swallow etc. Only you know your child! The bad: I'd struggle to use it every day - some of the recipes say they take 20 minutes when they take that long in the oven without the prep (chicken satay I'm looking at you!) And the amount of washing up for some of them is insane. If it takes 10 minutes to make but uses every utensil in the drawer it isn't worth it!To make things taste good a lot of the recipes have cheese. I'm OK with that sometimes but not sure I want to give my baby cheese every day - I wouldn't usually eat that much and there's quite a lot of salt in it.Also the recipes use low salt versions of things but use twice as much as I would use of the normal one. Not sure there's any point switching?I'd like it if allergens were marked more clearly on the recipes. Like sesame in the hummus for example. But it's not a massive issue - I can figure it out. Some of the portion sizes are a bit questionable - possibly because my little one is very little!I don't care about the pictures personally but I guess more would be nice.
